Email Address Harvesting Script, Random Stuff, and More

- I recently built a email address harvesting script. You can download it here:
- details are as follows:
# Recently, I noticed people trying to hunt down emails for companies and
# organisations that they found via Google. It was slow, manual/laborious
# work, etc... I decided to look around for an email harvesting program.
# I figured out they didn't really work very well (missed results) or
# were very slow (this version effective works by crawling the entire
# site and then finding any relevant strings that look like email addresses).
# The irony is that both paid and unpaid programs were similar.
#
# Hence, I decided to build my own. Very basic and as much a proof of concept
# as something that is of utility.
#
# I obviously used core extractor code/concepts from the following program/s:
#
# It works slightly differently then some of the scripts/programs mentioned
# above. Basically, it scans results from search engines based on user
# supplied keywords. Thereafter, it scans certain pages from these domains to
# extract email addresses. Initial analysis indicates it works faster and
# often achieves better coverage then some of the above options.
#
# Obviously, I did look at trying to overcome JavaScript based SPAM
# protection systems such as Cloudfare but that obviously would have
# required a lot more work and would have likely slowed down program
# function (likely would have done it via headless browser options or
# web test suites such as Selenium). Hence, it's omission for the time being.
#
# It can obviously be easily modified for phone number extraction as well
# and can be used for a multitude of reasons including marketing,
# penetration testing, plain research, counter-SPAM work, etc...
#
# Function 'main' is the core of this script. If you want to alter function
# this is basically where the primary alterations will be made. The main
# ones you'll be interested in are google and parse_file. Example of use
# are as follows:
#   google "keyword"
#   google "keyword1+keyword2"
#   parse_file url_file.txt
# Output obviously contains both debug as well as email addresses. Just use grep
# to look for only @ symbol to get only email addresses.
#
# Sample output of following is contained in venture_capital.txt for your
# perusal:
#   google "venture+capital"
#
# As this is the very first version of the program it may be VERY buggy.
# Please test prior to deployment in a production environment.

Random Quotes:
- A dozen beasts have been disqualified from this year’s Saudi “camel beauty contest” because their handlers used Botox to make them more handsome.

“The camel,” explained the chief judge of the show, Fawzan al-Madi, “is a symbol of Saudi Arabia. We used to preserve it out of necessity, now we preserve it as a pastime.”

- Cornel West is someone who is in no doubt as to the insult to King’s legacy Obama’s transparent attempt to posit his election to the White House the symbolic culmination of MLK’s ‘dream’: “The dream of the radical King for the first black president surely was not a Wall Street presidency, drone presidency, and surveillance presidency with a vanishing black middle class, devastated black working class, and desperate black poor people clinging to fleeting symbols and empty rhetoric.”

When it comes to the legacy of Martin Luther King, the biting insight of Irish rebel leader James Connolly applies: “Apostles of freedom are ever crucified when alive, but glorified when dead.”
- The RNC has also invested $200 million in digital, tech, and data programs since 2013. Our data analytics program allows us to identify voter behavior and predict results with an unprecedented level of accuracy. We’ve modeled 72 billion voter predictions to date, and this is a key part of what helped us win special elections last year in Georgia, Montana, South Carolina, Kansas and Utah.
- Globally speaking of crypto-currency the most famous one yet is the Bitcoin, which emerged in 2008, just after Occupy Wall Street accused big banks of misusing borrowers’ money, duping clients, rigging the system, and charging boggling fees.
- Neocons like William Kristol, Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Pearl were the driving forces in pushing for the war in Iraq. They understood if they wanted to sell war, “Americans” needed to believe the conflict was about values, not interests. The neocons dusted off and put a new face on that old rationalization for colonialism—the white man’s burden. Interventions were to bring democracy and freedom to those people who were struggling to be just like their more advanced models in the white West. Liberal interventionists further developed those ideas into “humanitarian interventionism” and the “responsibility to protect.”

The fact that the United States and Europe can wrap themselves in the flag of morality, practice savior politics and get away with it is a testament to the enduring psychopathology of white supremacist ideology.

The most extreme expressions of this cognitive dissonance occurred during the Obama administration, when the notion of U.S. exceptionalism was used to justify continuing the barbarism of the Bush administration’s so-called War on Terror. With this justification and the outrageous assertion that it was defending democracy, the U.S./EU/NATO axis of domination committed crimes against humanity and war crimes that resulted in the deaths of millions, while millions more were displaced and ancient cities, nations and peoples were destroyed.

The result? International Gallup and Pew research polls have consistently shown the peoples of the world consider the United States the greatest threat to world peace on the planet.
- When Woodhouse attempted to defend the patches, Torvalds let fly with both barrels. "Have you _looked_ at the patches you are talking about? You should have - several of them bear your name," he said.

"As it is, the patches are complete and utter garbage. They do literally insane things. They do things that do not make sense. That makes all your arguments questionable and suspicious. The patches do things that are not sane."
- “The bogus ‘War on Terror’ which served US strategic interests by targeting and destroying governments that refused to buckle under to US dictates has reached its limits and is no longer serving its purpose of containing Russia and China, the two nations that the US most fears as potential threats to continued US global hegemony,” Professor Etler said.

“The ‘War on Terror’ served as a rational to spread US imperialism's tentacles throughout the world when both Russia and China were relatively weak and could not be construed as credible threats. With the collapse of the Soviet Union and the Socialist Bloc and Communism, Russophobic hysteria could no longer be used to justify the Military-Industrial Complex’s bloated budget and US imperialism's global juggernaut,” he added.
- When Americans ask, "Why do they hate us?" episodes like the betrayal of the Syrian Kurds are a big part of the answer.

Everyone understands that self-interest dictates foreign policy. But the US always takes the moral high ground in describing its objectives, such as defeating Islamic State.

So when the US blatantly allows its NATO ally to destroy the people who did it, the hypocrisy is particularly horrible. And when the moral calculus is drawn, it won't be an excuse that there was no way to stop Erdogan.

All alliances have their natural end. Unless Erdogan stops spitting in Trump's face, the US-Turkey alliance is heading for its expiration date.
- The most basic feature that the United States should expect from an ally is consistent, reliable behavior that benefits U.S. policy objectives. Ideally, since America regards itself as a champion of democracy and freedom, an ally should embody those values as well, but Washington has never been a stickler for that standard. Indeed, the United States has a sordid history of collaboration with undemocratic, even odious, regimes when U.S. leaders believed that the relationship was important to America’s security or economic interests. President Donald Trump’s fawning over Saudi Arabia is clear evidence that such a cynical attitude remains intact.

Given Washington’s record, it is not especially surprising that both the Obama and Trump administrations have maintained close ties with Turkey, even as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has systematically dismantled his country’s secular, democratic institutions. It might be embarrassing for American officials to accept that a fellow member of NATO, an alliance of professed democratic nations, now is a de facto dictatorship that routinely imprisons political opponents and independent journalists. Erdogan’s domestic outrages, however, do not seem sufficient to alienate American policymakers. As long as Turkey’s foreign policy did not undermine Washington’s goals, U.S. leaders were content to look the other way about such misdeeds. But Ankara’s international conduct now threatens to eliminate the most fundamental basis for considering Turkey a U.S. ally.
