This is being placed here for my own possible records and for others to use if so desired. This is based on recipes online and an interpretation of restaurants that I occasionally frequent. The point of these recipes is to achieve the best taste, in the quickest possible time, at the cheapest possible price. That's why the ingredients are somewhat non-traditional at times. Here's the other thing, it's obvious that they can be altered quickly and easily to suit other core ingredients. Don't be afraid to experiment.

For a while now I've wondered whether it's possible to create a simple Asian style chicken noodle soup recipe using cheap ingredients that was really simple and quick. It is.

The following ingredients are required:
- chicken pieces
- water
- fish sauce
- soy sauce
- salt
- sugar or palm sugar
- garlic
- ginger
- carrots
- noodles (can be rice or egg based. This recipe seems to work with both)
- chicken stock (can be powdered or liquid)(optional)
- celery (optional)
- onion (optional)
- leek (optional)
- green vegetables (a lot of restaurants often use bean sprouts, buk choy, cabbage, or something similar)(optional)
- fried shallots (optional)
- star anise (optional)
- dumplings, char-siu, or roast pork (this gives it a more restaurant feel but isn't really needed)(optional)

Throw chicken pieces and chopped core ingredients into a pot of water or chicken stock. Boil this pot. Add vegetables and any other optional ingredients you may like. Add salt, fish sauce, and/or soy sauce to taste. Cook noodles separately. Ladle soup over noodles in soup bowl and serve.

It'll look something like the following:

Random Quotes:
- There’s an old stereotype about the difference between cats and dogs. Dogs are loving and fiercely loyal, they say, while cats are aloof and indifferent. Most cat people probably disagree – I certainly find it hard to believe, with my cat purring away in my lap, that she doesn’t care about me.
Overall, cat cognition research suggests cats do form emotional bonds with their humans. Cats seem to experience separation anxiety, are more responsive to their owners’ voices than to strangers’ and look for reassurance from their owners in scary situations.
But a new study, by researchers in Japan, complicates the picture of our relationship with cats. Adapting a method previously used to study dogs, the researchers found cats – unlike dogs – don’t avoid strangers who refuse to help their owners.
In the experiment, a cat watched as her owner tried to open a box to get at something inside. Two strangers sat on either side of the owner and the owner turned to one of them and asked for help. In “helper” trials, the stranger helped the owner to open the box. In “non-helper” trials, the stranger refused. The other stranger sat passively, doing nothing.
- Scott Morrison has declared that unemployed Australians who refuse to take jobs should have their Centrelink benefits withdrawn.
The prime minister is frustrated that 54,000 jobs are going begging in regional Australia - including at pubs, cafes and farms - despite the government's $6,000 relocation payment.
'Unemployed Australians are simply and regrettably not filling these jobs,' he told the AFR business summit in Sydney on Tuesday.
From April JobSeeker recipients will have to apply for 15 jobs a month, rising to 20 from July as the payment permanently increases by $50 a fortnight to $620.80.
'This is a fair exchange,' Mr Morrison said.
'If there is a job available, and you are able to do that job, then it is reasonable for taxpayers to expect that it will be taken up, rather than continue to receive benefits.'
Farmers have been struggling to hire workers due to a shortage of backpackers who have been unable to enter the country during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The prime minister warned that produce going unpicked on farms meant that food prices will rise for every Australian and described the waste as a 'tragedy.'
Another solution is to bring in temporary migrants on conditional visas to 'fill the gap' and boost the economy as a whole, thereby creating more jobs, he said.
'We have tried in the past to first get Australians into these jobs, but having tried to do that with any number of incentives,' Mr Morrison said.
'It has been incredibly difficult and we have to call it as it is. When Australians won't do the jobs, the jobs still need to be done.
'I can't have horticulturists ploughing their produce back into their fields because they can't get the workers.
'We must relook at the role that temporary visa holders play in meeting our economy's workforce requirements, where Australians do not fill these jobs,' he said.
Mr Morrison said he was open minded about reforming the immigration system and would look at conditional visas that could require workers to live in regional areas.
'We have got a real open mind on this,' he said.
'Conditionality is one of the great advantages of the temporary visa program. You can't put conditions on permanent visas.
'Those conditions can help us direct where people can go, which can ease pressures in metropolitan areas but hopefully ease pressures in regional areas.'
- Hi everyone,
This sunday I'll offer dinner vegetable gratin with broccoli and vegetable soup and  fry brocoli with almonds very encouraging comments and your kindness over the past  of days, since I first posted. It also shows that among you there are wonderful people who want to help others in one way or another.
I will always be glad to help people that I hear about through others.
I want to say that there are around you people who do not have Facebook and they cannot see offers that can be useful for them. Please be aware of your neighbours and if they are in need. - Kamahl accepted he had benefitted from the publicity generated by his appearances on the program. “My basic philosophy as far as television is concerned was, if you’re an entertainer, if they don’t see you on television, they think you’re dead,” he said.
But, he said, he had little control over how he would be portrayed on the program, and that when he first appeared “I didn’t realise it was going to be a minefield, of sorts”.
“There were a number of instances where I felt humiliated, but I didn’t want to raise any objections or protest about it. I kept smiling and pretending all was OK.”
- VANCOUVER — Grizzly bears seem to favour gently sloping or flat trails like those commonly used by people, which can affect land management practices in wild areas, says an expert who has written a paper on their travel patterns.
One of the reasons people encounter bears while hiking could be because they prefer the same routes as humans, said Gordon Stenhouse, a researcher at the Alberta-based Foothills Research Institute.
The study recently published in the Journal of Experimental Biology could be used by resource-based industries in areas like forestry, oil and gas exploration, especially in Alberta, he said in an interview.
“Grizzly bears alter their movement patterns and habitat use in response to a wide range of environmental cues, including seasonal food resources, human recreation — such as hiking, camping, hunting — livestock grazing and road use,” the study says.
The study was led by Anthony Carnahan, a doctoral candidate at Washington State University.
Stenhouse said the study can help understand what areas bears use, how fast they move, how best to conserve those places and avoid conflict with the animals.
“Bears will make decisions on lots of factors and certainly, you know, the information shows that bears look for easy routes of travel, just like people do,” he said.

As the title states the following are a bunch of recipes that I sometimes use for with rice or noodles. This is being placed here for my own possible records and for others to use if so desired.

These are based on recipes online and an interpretation of restaurants that I occasionally frequent. The point of these recipes is to achieve the best taste, in the quickest possible time (total cooking time averages around 10-15 minutes depending on how good you are in the kitchen. It's really difficult to get these wrong since many of the ingredients are pre-made), at the cheapest possible price. That's why the ingredients are somewhat non-traditional at times. Here's the other thing, it's obvious that they can be altered quickly and easily to suit other core ingredients. Don't be afraid to experiment.

Sweet Vietnamese Style Meat
- some form of meat (buy it pre-sliced or mince and you'll have this recipe done in no time. Chicken or pork works best with this recipe)
- sugar
- fish sauce
- pepper
- garlic
- onion (optional)
Split meat if required. Coat meat with bicarbonate soda if desired (meat tenderiser) and then wash off in cold water. Create marinade sauce by using adding sugar, fish sauce, garlic, pepper. Marinade pork with sauce. Cook meat in pan/saucepan with sauce, other and optional ingredients. Goes well with rice, noodles, or in a congee.

Salt and Pepper Chicken
- chicken (buy it pre-sliced or mince and you'll have this recipe done in no time)
- pepper

Sweet and Sour Meat
- some form of meat (buy it pre-sliced or mince and you'll have this recipe done in no time. Pork or chicken works best with this recipe)
- vegetables suitable for stir fry (fresh or pre-cut/diced. The strange thing is that purchasing the pre-cut/diced stuff is actually cheaper and more convenient now)
- sweet and sour sauce (purchase pre-made or make it yourself)

Meat in Random Sauce Purchased from Supermarket or Grocery
It's pretty obvious that you follow the same basic formula as with the above for most Asian sauces that you can find in the local supermarket.

Afghanistan -- a geopolitically strategic country with a massive wealth of untapped mineral resources -- serves as a conduit for Central Asian gas and oil and a source for the opium trade as well an essential staging ground for US imperialism's effort to destabilize the heart of Eurasia, says Professor Dennis Etler, an American political analyst who has a decades-long interest in international affairs.

The Australian Government has been trying for the last few years to get multinational companies to pay tax on all the revenue they earn in the country.

According to a report from the investment bank Morgan Stanley, Google and Facebook took between $4 billion and $5 billion of Australian revenue last year.

Pellegrino said he was not in a position to offer any opinion on these estimates.

Senator Xenophon replied that he hated being misled and asked whether the $1.1 billion figure included money that was sent through overseas branches of the company.

The Google executive said that all revenue generated in Australia came through the Australian business.

When Senator Xenophon pressed Pellegrino as to whether the revenue earned by Google last year was closer to $3 billion, he responded that the company had a global policy of not reporting numbers in any specific country.

Facebook's head of journalism partnerships Aine Kerr told the panel that the company was paying US$1 million to 10,000 publishers across the world.

Senator Xenophon pointed out that this was just US$100 per publisher.

- As one flabbergasted US military pundit told CNN: "How does a state-of-the-art navy destroyer equipped with multiple radar systems and communications gear with a full-bridge watch not see, detect and evade a 30,000 ton slow-moving (10 knots) behemoth?"

- Strafach said RevealMobile said it had the capability to gain insight into where a user lives, works, and his or her frequented locations.

He pointed to a case study where RevealMobile had provided this explanation:

"Our technology sits inside hundreds of apps across the United States. It turns the location data coming out of those apps into meaningful audience data. We listen for lat/long data and when a device 'bumps' into a Bluetooth beacon. The data shown on the following pages reflects 102,535 opted-in location sharing mobile devices that we saw at retail locations Friday, November 25th, 2016."

Strafach said similar leaking of data by another company, InMobi, had attracted the attention of the US Federal Trade Commission.

- "For many years all of this resulted in fees being payed to intermediaries in order for them to help sign a contract. And the line between corruption and a reward for a service rendered (as some deals can be closed only with the assistance of intermediaries) is very thin. Corruption occurs when money is being payed not for a service rendered but for turning a blind eye on some clauses of a contract," Bouveret said.

- "In terms of [coal's] contribution to Ukraine's energy mix, [the US supplies are] actually insignificant," the expert stressed. "We're talking 700,000 metric tons. That's going to produce 1.4 million megawatts. If we put that into perspective, Ukraine's annual consumption of electricity is 143 million megawatts. So we're talking about 1% of its total consumption. So in energy terms it's not that significant; of course, we're talking about one deal; there may be more in the future," he added.

At the same time, Cartwright agreed with other experts that the deal makes no sense for Kiev cost wise. "Economically, it makes very little sense. I'm not entirely sure of the cost of this, given the [declared] cost of $113 per ton. That must include shipment and various other costs, because the price of thermal coal at the moment is $49.75 per metric ton. I'm sure this coal could have been sourced far more cheaply elsewhere. So yes, of course, this is a political gesture by the US government," the expert said.

- The report, shared on social media by the People's Liberation Army Daily, indicated 20 percent of the potential soldiers failed the fitness test because they were overweight, while another eight percent of male candidates were dismissed because they had an enlarged testicular vein.

Though it's unclear how authorities actually knew about the testicular vein, the report said it was "related to sitting too long on computer games, excessive masturbation and too little physical activity."

- New York: Russia's ambassador to Sudan, a career diplomat with decades of service, was found dead at his Khartoum home Wednesday, Russian and Sudanese officials reported.

The death of the ambassador, Mirgayas Shirinsky, who was in his early 60s, was at least the fourth time since December that a senior Kremlin envoy has died prematurely overseas. The Sudan Foreign Ministry said in a statement quoted by news agencies that Shirinsky "died this evening at his Khartoum residence" without providing a cause of death.

- A bride in the western Iranian province of Ilam has asked her fiancé to plant 1372 trees as part of her mahr – the traditional Islamic payment paid by the groom to the bride at the time of marriage, The Tehran Times reports.

Putting a twist on the traditional mahr, which typically includes things like money, jewelry, furniture, a home, land, or some other item the bride may desire, the bride from Ilam instead opted to ask her future husband to plant over a thousand trees.

Why 1,372? Under the Iranian calendar, 1372 is the year that the 24-year-old bride was born. Why trees? According to The Tehran Times, the bride would like to do her part to protect the environment, and garner attention to the issue.
