- occasionally, you wonder where the inspiration for people's work comes from. We'll delve into the lives of musicians and film makers predominately in this post. Whether they realise it (intentional or not) their true lives often leaches into their work, their demeanour, and the way they live their lives:

In 1987, Debbie allowed runaway Kimberly Anne "Kim" Scott to stay at their home. Several years later, Eminem began an on-and-off relationship with Scott.[16] After spending three years in ninth grade due to truancy and poor grades,[28] he dropped out of Lincoln High School at age 17. Although interested in English, Eminem never explored literature (preferring comic books) and he disliked math and social studies.[27] Eminem worked at several jobs to help his mother pay the bills. One of the jobs he had was with Little Caesar's Pizza in Warren, Michigan.[29] He later said she often threw him out of the house anyway, often after taking most of his paycheck. When she left to play bingo, he would blast the stereo and write songs.[20]

Early life, family and education
Alicia Augello Cook alias Alicia Keys was born on January 25, 1981,[6][7] in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City.[12][13] She is the only child of Teresa Augello, who was a paralegal and part-time actress, and one of three children of Craig Cook, who was a flight attendant.[14][15] Keys's father is African American and her mother is of Italian and "Irish or Scottish" descent; her mother's paternal grandparents were immigrants from Sciacca, Sicily;[16][17] and Lamezia Terme, in Calabria.[18] Named after her Puerto Rican godmother,[19] Keys has said that she was comfortable with her multiracial heritage because she felt she was able to "relate to different cultures".[12][20] Keys's father left when she was two years old. She was subsequently raised by her mother during her formative years at Manhattan Plaza[21] in Hell's Kitchen.[22] Keys has stated that her parents never had a relationship, and her father was not in her life.[23] Although she did not like to speak about her father in order to not feed stereotypes, Keys remarked in 2001: "I'm not in contact with him. That's fine. When I was younger, I minded about that. [It] made me angry. But it helped show me what a strong woman my mother was, and made me want to be strong like her. Probably, it was better for me this way."[12] Keys and her mother lived in a one-bedroom apartment.[24] Her mother often worked three jobs to provide for Keys, who "learned how to survive" from her mother's example of tenacity and self-reliance.[25]
From a young age, Keys struggled with self-esteem issues, hiding little by little when her differences made her vulnerable to judgment, and later uninvited sexual attention.[27][28][29] Living in the rough neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen,[22][23] she was, from an early age, regularly exposed to street violence, drugs, prostitution, and subjected to sexual propositions in the sex trade- and crime-riddled area.[29][30][31] "I saw a variety of people growing up, and lifestyles, lows and highs. I think it makes you realize right away what you want and what you don't want," Keys said.[32] Keys recalled feeling fearful early on of the "animal instinct" she witnessed, and eventually feeling "high" due to recurrent harassment.[27][33] Her experiences in the streets had led her to carry a homemade knife for protection.[34][35] She became very wary,[35][36] emotionally guarded, and she began wearing gender-neutral clothing and what would become her trademark cornrows.[39] Keys explained that she is grateful for growing up where she did as it prepared her for the parallels in the music industry, particularly as she was a teenager starting out; she could maintain a particular focus and not derail herself.[29][40] She credits her "tough" mother for anchoring her on a right path as opposed to many people she knew who ended up on the wrong path and in jail. Keys attributed her unusual maturity as a young girl to her mother, who depended on her to be responsible while she worked to provide for them and gave Keys as many opportunities as possible.[35][36]
...
I grew up in the middle of everything. I walked the streets alone, I rode the trains alone, I came home at three in the morning alone, that was what I did ... The city had a huge influence on me because it's such a diverse place. As hard as [growing up in it was], I always felt very blessed about being able to recognize different cultures and styles, people and places. I feel like the concrete alone just gave me a certain drive. I really saw everything: every negative I could possibly see from the time I could walk until now; and also every positive, every bright future, every dream that I could possibly see. So growing up around this big dichotomy definitely influenced my music.

Tupac Amaru Shakur (/ˈtuːpɑːk ʃəˈkʊər/ TOO-pahk shə-KOOR; born Lesane Parish Crooks; June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996), also known by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, was an American rapper and songwriter. Considered to be one of the most influential and successful rappers of all time,[1][2] academics regard him as one of the most influential music artists of the 20th century and also a politically conscious activist voice for Black America.[3][4] Shakur is among the best-selling music artists, having sold more than 75 million records worldwide. His lyrical content has been noted for addressing social injustice, political issues, and the marginalization of African-Americans,[5][6] but he was also synonymous with gangsta rap and violent lyrics.[7]
tupac personality
He was simultaneously a caring, compassionate person who fought for social justice and equality and a controversial and provocative figure who could be aggressive and confrontational. Tupac's dual nature is also evident in his music, which ranges from introspective and reflective to confrontational and aggressive.
In early 1957, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona.[26][27] Spielberg had a bar mitzvah ceremony when he was thirteen.[28] His family was involved in the synagogue and had many Jewish friends.[29] Of the Holocaust, he said that his parents "talked about it all the time, and so it was always on my mind."[29] His father had lost between sixteen and twenty relatives in the Holocaust.[21] Spielberg found it difficult accepting his heritage; he said: "It isn't something I enjoy admitting ... but when I was seven, eight, nine years old, God forgive me, I was embarrassed because we were Orthodox Jews. I was embarrassed by the outward perception of my parents' Jewish practices. I was never really ashamed to be Jewish, but I was uneasy at times."[30][31] Spielberg also suffered from anti-Semitism: "In high school, I got smacked and kicked around. Two bloody noses. It was horrible."[32][33][21] He grew away from Judaism during adolescence, after his family had moved to various neighborhoods and found themselves to be the only Jews.[34][35]

Polanski's father was transferred, along with thousands of other Jews, to Mauthausen, a group of 49 German concentration camps in Austria. His mother, who was four months pregnant at the time, was taken to Auschwitz and killed in the gas chamber soon after arriving. The forced exodus took place immediately after the German liquidation of the Warsaw Ghetto, a real-life backdrop to Polanski's film The Pianist (2002). Polanski, who was then hiding from the Germans, saw his father being marched off with a long line of people. Polanski tried getting closer to his father to ask him what was happening and got within a few yards. His father saw him, but afraid his son might be spotted by the German soldiers, whispered (in Polish), "Get lost!"[17]: 24

R. Kelly - When A Woman Loves
Trauma and abuse
Kelly described having a girlfriend, Lulu, at age eight, in his autobiography. He stated that their last play date turned tragic when, after fighting with older children over a play area by a creek, she was pushed into the water, swept downstream by a fast-moving current, and drowned. Kelly called Lulu his first musical inspiration.[22]
Kelly said members of his household would act differently when his mother and grandparents were not home.[23][20] This included highly provocative dress and behavior. Kelly stated that when he was eight, an adult woman in the household coerced him into photographing her while having intercourse with an adult male partner.[24]
From age 8 to 14, he was often sexually abused by an older female family member.[16][25] Kelly's younger brother, Carey, stated that he suffered from years of sexual abuse at the hands of his older sister, Theresa, who was entrusted with babysitting her siblings.[26][27] Carey stated that although their older brother, Bruce, was spared and allowed to play outside, both he and Kelly were punished at separate times indoors by Theresa, who refused to acknowledge the abuse when confronted years later.[26][27]
Explaining why he never told anyone, Kelly wrote in the 2012 autobiography Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me that he was "too afraid and too ashamed".[22] Around age 10, Kelly was also sexually abused by an older male who was a friend of the family.[16] In his autobiography, Kelly describes being shot in the shoulder at age 13 by boys who were attempting to steal his bike,[22] although a family friend claims his mother disputed this, stating that the gunshot was self-inflicted during a suicide attempt.[16]

Early life
O'Neal was born on March 6, 1972, in Newark, New Jersey,[16] to Lucille O'Neal and Joe Toney, who played high school basketball (he was an All-State guard) and was offered a basketball scholarship to play at Seton Hall. Toney struggled with drug addiction and was imprisoned for drug possession when O'Neal was an infant. Upon his release, he did not resume a place in O'Neal's life and instead agreed to relinquish his parental rights to O'Neal's Jamaican stepfather, Phillip Arthur Harrison, a career Army sergeant.[17][18] O'Neal remained estranged from his biological father for decades; O'Neal had not spoken with Toney or expressed an interest in establishing a relationship.[18] On his 1994 rap album, Shaq Fu: The Return, O'Neal voiced his feelings of disdain for Toney in the song "Biological Didn't Bother", dismissing him with the line "Phil is my father." However, O'Neal's feelings toward Toney mellowed in the years following Harrison's death in 2013, and the two met for the first time in March 2016, with O'Neal telling him, "I don't hate you. I had a good life. I had Phil."[19]
O'Neal came from a tall family. His father and mother were 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m) and 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m) tall, respectively, and by age 13, O'Neal was already 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m) tall. He credited the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in Newark with giving him a safe place to play and keeping him off the streets. "It gave me something to do," he said. "I'd just go there to shoot. I didn't even play on a team."[20] Because of his stepfather's career in the military, the family left Newark, moving to military bases in Germany and Texas.[21]
After returning from Germany, O'Neal's family settled in San Antonio, Texas. By age 16, O'Neal had grown to 6 ft 10 in (2.08 m), and he began playing basketball at Robert G. Cole High School. He led his team to a 68–1 record over two years and helped the team win the state championship during his senior year.[22] His 791 rebounds during the 1989 season remains a state record for a player in any classification.[23] O'Neal's tendency to make hook shots earned comparisons to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, inspiring him to wear the same jersey number as Abdul-Jabbar, No. 33. However, his high school team did not have a 33 jersey, so O'Neal chose to wear No. 32 before college.[24]

Early life
Carey was born on March 27, 1969,[a] in Huntington, New York.[8][9] Her name is derived from the song "They Call the Wind Maria", originally from the 1951 Broadway musical Paint Your Wagon.[10][11] She is the youngest of three children born to Patricia (née Hickey), a former opera singer and vocal coach of Irish descent, and Alfred Roy Carey, an aeronautical engineer of both African-American and Afro-Venezuelan lineage. The last name "Carey" was adopted by her Venezuelan grandfather, Francisco Núñez, after he emigrated to New York.[12][9] Patricia's family disowned her for marrying a black man.[12] Racial tensions prevented the Carey family from integrating into their community. While they lived in Huntington, their neighbors poisoned the family dog and set fire to their car.[12] After her parents' divorce, Carey had little contact with her father, and her mother worked several jobs to support the family. Carey spent much of her time at home alone and began singing at age three, often imitating her mother's take on Verdi's opera Rigoletto in Italian. Her older sister Alison moved in with their father while Mariah and her elder brother Morgan lived with their mother.[13][14]
During her years in elementary school, she excelled in the arts, such as music and literature. Carey began writing poetry and lyrics while attending Harborfields High School in Greenlawn, New York,[15] where she graduated in 1987.[16] Carey began vocal training under the tutelage of her mother. Though she was a classically trained opera singer, Patricia Carey never pressured her daughter to pursue a career in classical opera. Mariah Carey recalled that she had "never been a pushy mom. She never said, 'Give it more of an operatic feel.' I respect opera like crazy, but it didn't influence me."[15][17] In high school, Mariah Carey was often absent because of her work as a demo singer. This led to her classmates giving her the nickname Mirage.[17] Working in the Long Island music scene gave her opportunities to work with musicians such as Gavin Christopher and Ben Margulies, with whom she co-wrote material for her demo tape. After moving to New York City, she worked part-time jobs to pay the rent and completed 500 hours of beauty school.[18] Carey moved into a one-bedroom apartment in Manhattan with four female students as roommates.[19] She landed a gig singing backup for freestyle singer Brenda K. Starr.[20][21]

After living out on the streets for the next few years, he decides to join the U.S. Navy to make something out of his life.
The rough life he had as a child has caused him to have a violent temper; after getting into a fight with a fellow sailor, Antwone is sentenced at a captain's mast to be demoted, fined, and restricted to the ship for 45 days. His commanding officer also orders him to go to psychiatric treatment. Antwone goes in to meet Dr. Jerome Davenport, who attempts to get him to open up. Antwone is at first extremely resistant, but gradually comes to trust Davenport and opens up about his traumatic childhood. Meanwhile, Antwone develops feelings for fellow Navy sailor Cheryl. Antwone finally goes on a date with Cheryl and establishes a relationship with her.

Aubrey Drake Graham[14] was born on October 24, 1986, in Toronto, Ontario. His father, Dennis Graham, is an African-American drummer from Memphis who once performed with musician Jerry Lee Lewis.[15][16] His mother, Sandra "Sandi" Graham (née Sher), is a Canadian Ashkenazi Jew, who worked as an English teacher and florist.[17][18][19][20][21] Graham performed at Club Bluenote in Toronto, where he met Sandra, who was in attendance.[16] Drake is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, the former derived from Graham.[22][23][24] In his youth, he attended a Jewish day school and became a bar mitzvah.[25][26]
Drake's parents divorced when he was five years old. After the divorce, he and his mother remained in Toronto; his father returned to Memphis, where he was incarcerated for a number of years on drug-related charges.[27] Graham's limited finances and legal issues caused him to remain in the U.S. until Drake's early adulthood. Prior to his arrest, Graham would travel to Toronto and bring Drake to Memphis every summer.[28][29][30] Graham claimed in an interview that Drake's assertions of him being an absent father were embellishments used to sell music,[31] which Drake vehemently denies.[32]

Jackson's skin had been medium-brown during his youth, but from the mid-1980s gradually grew paler. The change drew widespread media coverage, including speculation that he had been bleaching his skin.[111][112][113] His dermatologist, Arnold Klein, said he observed in 1983 that Jackson had vitiligo,[114] a condition characterized by patches of the skin losing their pigment. He also identified discoid lupus erythematosus in Jackson. He diagnosed Jackson with lupus that year,[114] and with vitiligo in 1986.[115] Vitiligo's drastic effects on the body can cause psychological distress. Jackson used fair-colored makeup,[116] and possibly skin-bleaching prescription creams,[117] to cover up the uneven blotches of color caused by the illness. The creams would depigment the blotches, and, with the application of makeup, he could appear very pale.[118] Jackson said he had not purposely bleached his skin and could not control his vitiligo, adding, "When people make up stories that I don't want to be who I am, it hurts me."[119] He became friends with Klein and Klein's assistant, Debbie Rowe. Rowe later became Jackson's second wife and the mother of his first two children.[120]

Early life and education
Denzel Hayes Washington Jr. was born in Mount Vernon, New York, on December 28, 1954. His mother, Lennis "Lynne", was a beauty parlor owner and operator born in Georgia and partly raised in Harlem, New York.[3][4][5][6] His father, Denzel Hayes Washington Sr., a native of Buckingham County, Virginia, was an ordained Pentecostal minister who was also an employee of the New York City Water Department, and worked at a local S. Klein department store.
Washington attended Pennington-Grimes Elementary School in Mount Vernon until 1968. When he was 14, his parents divorced and his mother sent him to the private preparatory school Oakland Military Academy in New Windsor, New York. Washington later said, "That decision changed my life, because I wouldn't have survived in the direction I was going. The guys I was hanging out with at the time, my running buddies, have now done maybe 40 years combined in the penitentiary. They were nice guys, but the streets got them."[7] After Oakland, he attended Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida, from 1970 to 1971.[4]
He was interested in attending Texas Tech University: "I grew up in the Boys Club in Mount Vernon, and we were the Red Raiders. So when I was in high school, I wanted to go to Texas Tech in Lubbock just because they were called the Red Raiders and their uniforms looked like ours."[8] Instead, he earned a BA in Drama and Journalism from Fordham University in 1977.[9] At Fordham, he played collegiate basketball as a guard[10] under coach P. J. Carlesimo.[11] After a period of indecision on which major to study and taking a semester off, Washington worked as creative arts director of the overnight summer camp at Camp Sloane YMCA in Lakeville, Connecticut. He participated in a staff talent show for the campers and a colleague suggested he try acting.[12]
Returning to Fordham that fall with a renewed purpose, Washington enrolled at the Lincoln Center campus to study acting, where he was cast in the title roles in Eugene O'Neill's The Emperor Jones and Shakespeare's Othello. He then attended graduate school at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, California, where he stayed for one year before returning to New York to begin a professional acting career.[13]

Escobar's legacy remains controversial; while many denounce the heinous nature of his crimes, he was seen as a "Robin Hood-like" figure for many in Colombia, as he provided many amenities to the poor. His killing was mourned and his funeral attended by over 25,000 people.[7] Additionally, his private estate, Hacienda Nápoles, has been transformed into a theme park.[8] His life has also served as inspiration for or has been dramatized widely in film, television, and in music.
Early life
Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria was born on 1 December 1949 in Rionegro, Antioquia Department. He was the third of seven children and grew up in poverty, in the neighboring city of Medellín. His father was a small farmer and his mother was a teacher. Escobar left high school in 1966 just before his 17th birthday, before returning two years later with his cousin Gustavo Gaviria. At this time, the hard life on the streets of Medellín had polished them into gangster bullies in the eyes of teachers. The two dropped out of school after more than a year, but Escobar did not give up. Having forged a high school diploma, he studied briefly in college with the goal of becoming a criminal lawyer, a politician, and eventually the president, but had to give up because of lack of money.[9][10][11][12]

Early
Escobar started his criminal career with his gang by stealing tombstones, sandblasting their inscriptions, and reselling them. After dropping out of school, Escobar began to join gangs to steal cars.[13] Escobar soon became involved in violent crime, employing criminals to kidnap people who owed him money and demand ransoms, sometimes tearing up ransom notes even when Escobar had received the ransom. His most famous kidnapping victim was businessman Diego Echavarria, who was kidnapped and eventually killed in the summer of 1971, Escobar received a $50,000 ransom from the Echavarria family; his gang became well known for this kidnapping. Bulger developed a reputation as a thief and street fighter fiercely loyal to South Boston. This led to him meeting more experienced criminals and finding more lucrative opportunities. In 1943, 14-year-old Bulger was arrested and charged with larceny.[34] By then he had joined a street gang known as the "Shamrocks" and would eventually be arrested for assault, forgery and armed robbery. Bulger was sentenced to a juvenile reformatory for these offenses.[35]
Shortly after his release in April 1948, Bulger joined the United States Air Force where he earned his high school diploma and trained as a mechanic. Despite the regimented military life, he had not reformed.[32] He spent time in the military prison for several assaults and was later arrested by Air Force police in 1950 for going absent without leave. Nevertheless, he received an honorable discharge in 1952 and returned to Massachusetts.[32]

Christopher George Latore Wallace was born at St. Mary's Hospital in the New York City borough of Brooklyn on May 21, 1972, the only child of Jamaican immigrant parents. His mother, Voletta Wallace, was a preschool teacher, while his father, Selwyn George Latore, was a welder and politician.[11][12] His father left the family when Wallace was two years old, and his mother worked two jobs while raising him. Wallace grew up at 226 St. James Place in Brooklyn's Clinton Hill,[13] near the border with Bedford-Stuyvesant.[11][14] Raised a Jehovah's Witness,[15][16] Wallace attended St Peter Claver Church in the borough,[17] and excelled at Queen of All Saints Middle School, winning several awards as an English student. He was nicknamed "Big" because he was overweight by the age of 10.[18] During childhood, Wallace struggled with depression, anxiety, and paranoia; such topics would become subject matter discussed in his lyrical content.[19] Wallace claimed to have begun dealing drugs at about age 12. His mother, often at work, first learned of this during his adulthood.[20]

Jackson was born in the borough of Queens, New York City, and raised in its South Jamaica neighborhood[3] by his mother Sabrina. Sabrina, a drug dealer, raised Jackson until she died in a fire when Jackson was eight years old.[13][14] Jackson revealed in an interview that his mother was a lesbian.[15][16] After his mother's death and his father's departure, Jackson was raised by his grandparents.[17]
He began boxing at about age 11, and when he was 14, a neighbor opened a boxing gym for local youth. "When I wasn't killing time in school, I was sparring in the gym or selling crack on the strip," Jackson remembered.[18] He sold crack during primary school.[19] "I was competitive in the ring and hip-hop is competitive too ... I think rappers condition themselves like boxers, so they all kind of feel like they're the champ."[20]
At age 12, Jackson began dealing narcotics when his grandparents thought he was in after-school programs,[21] and brought guns and drug money to school. In the tenth grade, he was caught by metal detectors at Andrew Jackson High School: "I was embarrassed that I got arrested like that ... After I got arrested I stopped hiding it. I was telling my grandmother [openly], 'I sell drugs.'"[22]
On June 29, 1994, Jackson was arrested for selling four vials of cocaine to an undercover police officer. He was arrested again three weeks later, when police searched his home and found heroin, ten ounces of crack cocaine, and a starting pistol. Although Jackson was sentenced to three to nine years in prison, he served six months in a boot camp and earned his GED. He has said that he did not use cocaine himself.[17][23][24] Jackson adopted the nickname "50 Cent" as a metaphor for change.[25] The name was inspired by Kelvin Martin, a 1980s Brooklyn robber known as "50 Cent"; Jackson chose it "because it says everything I want it to say. I'm the same kind of person 50 Cent was. I provide for myself by any means."[26]

Early life
Brolin was born on February 12, 1968, in Santa Monica, California, the son of Jane Cameron (née Agee 1939–1995),[3] a casting director[4] and wildlife activist,[5] and actor James Brolin.[6][7] Brolin was raised on a ranch[8] in the Adelaida area of Paso Robles,[9] attending elementary and middle school in Templeton, California,[10] and around age 11, he moved to the Santa Barbara area, where he attended Santa Barbara High School.[11] with little exposure to his father's acting career.[12] His parents divorced in 1984 when he was 16.
Brolin said in a 2014 interview that during his youth, he was a member of a surfing friendship group who called themselves the "Cito Rats". In his description of the group, Brolin said, "It was Santa Barbara. It was the '80s. It was punk rock. You either had the children of rich, neglectful parents or children of poor, so it was a mix. But we basically grew up the same way. I've never seen a group like that before or since." (Tom Wolfe describes a 1965[13] Windansea Beach surfing friendship group in his book The Pump House Gang). He admitted to stealing cars to pay for his drug use, which included heroin, a drug that he explained he did not like: "I mean, I never got into it and I never died from it, which is a good thing. I've had 19 friends who died. Most of those guys I grew up with, they're all dead now,"[14] later: "The group of guys that I grew up with, 37 of them are dead."[15]

The Rats were hardly the Crips, but they weren't the Goonies either. Brolin robbed cars to buy drugs and ran in and out of trouble. "I tried heroin," he says. "That sounds so horrible when you put it like that. But yeah, I tried heroin. I mean, I never got into it and I never died from it, which is a good thing. I've had 19 friends who died. Most of those guys I grew up with, they're all dead now."
Heroin, he concluded, was not for him. It was a meaningless experience; it brought nothing to the table. "I used to think you should try to deconstruct everything. Experience everything. Just get yourself out there. But I don't believe that any more. Having adventures is all very well, but an imagination can make up for all that. That's the more intelligent way to be. And it keeps you out of harm's way."

Jay Kay was born Jason Luís Cheetham[6] in Stretford on 30 December 1969,[7] to English cabaret singer Karen Kay[8] and Portuguese guitarist Luís Saraiva.[9] His parents split up, and he did not meet his biological father until he was about 28. Kay's identical twin, David, died of brain damage a few weeks after the two were born.[10][11] Kay said in a 2010 interview that his mother raised him largely alone, which gave him "an itinerant childhood", half of which he spent "living in rural Suffolk and rural Devon".[12] He moved to Manchester with his mother and step-father Mervyn Kay as a youngster from Blackburn.[13][8] He often accompanied his mother at her performances,[14] and later attended Oakham School in Oakham.[15] At the age of 15, he was homeless and turned to small crimes to survive; he returned home after a false arrest and near-death experience, working as a break-dancer and soon pursuing a career in music.[7][16] It had been reported that he failed an audition to become a singer for the Brand New Heavies prior to forming his own band, though the Brand New Heavies denied the claim.[17]

Barry White - Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe (Live Footage) [Remastered in HD]

Early life
White was born Barry Eugene Carter on September 12, 1944, in Galveston, Texas.[3][4] His father was Melvin A. White, and his mother was Sadie Marie Carter. His parents never married, so his mother gave him her last name, but he later took on the surname of his father.[5][6] He grew up in the Watts neighborhood of South Central Los Angeles, California.[7] He was the oldest of two children; his brother Darryl was 13 months younger. White grew up listening to his mother's classical music collection and first took to the piano, emulating what he heard on the records.
White has often been credited with playing piano, at age 11, on Jesse Belvin's 1956 hit single, "Goodnight My Love".[8][9] However, in a 1995 interview with the Boston Herald, White denied writing or arranging the song. He believed the story was an exaggeration by journalists. While White and Belvin lived in the same neighborhood, Belvin was 12 years older than White.
White attended Jacob A. Riis High School, an all-boys academy in southeast Los Angeles.[10] White's voice deepened suddenly when he was 13 or 14.[11] He recalled: "[As a child], I had a normal squeaky kid voice. Then as a teenager, that completely changed. My mother cried because she knew her baby boy had become a man." In an 2000 interview with Conan O'Brien he further recalled: "I woke up one morning when I was 14. I spoke to my mother and I scared both of us."[12] White also told the BBC that this happened when he was 13.[13][14]
White was jailed for four months at the age of 16 for stealing $30,000 worth of Cadillac tires (equivalent to about $310,000 now[when?]).[15] While in jail, he listened to Elvis Presley singing "It's Now or Never" on the radio,[16] an experience he later credited with changing the course of his life.[17] White had another moment of inspiration on his 18th birthday, which also was the first day back for his graduating year of high school. He skipped class to walk to Capitol Records headquarters in Hollywood, and stood across the street from the office staring for hours. Seeing the liveliness of the area it inspired him to work in Hollywood, in the entertainment industry, despite not knowing how to read or write music.[10]

- one thing that is interesting is that whether in the education or sports system development isn't that much different. The people who normally people have to learn the "hard way" often know better how they achieved what they did so if they problems they can figure out things more easily? Note, that a lot of good players who are less talented or come from poor backgrounds often have great close control? They remind me of former drug dealers who managed to find a way out of that life? They had to master their skill and be fiercely competitive to get out? Note, if sports academies were doing their job why doesn't everybody coming out of particular academies come out exactly the same way?

- interestingly, better football managers often tend not to have been as technically gifted (in their professional career as a player if they had one) but have thought about the game a lot? I suspect it's because they had to think about playing the game with limitations that they're better able to create game plans that are successful and able to promulgated by their players? That's also the reason they can get away with not necessarily having to buy the most expensive players on the market to be successful?

- death of those who are close to you often changes people and their lives significantly. Some choose to try to forget about it by embracing something or someone else, others never really get over it, others go numb, other just "change", etc...
Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men - One Sweet Day (Official Video)
I wrote the initial idea for 'One Sweet Day' with Walter, and I had the chorus...and I stopped and said, 'I really wanna do this with Boyz II Men,' because...obviously I'm a big fan of theirs and I just thought that the work was crying out for them, the vocals that they do, so I put it away and said, 'Who knows if this could ever happen, but I just don't wanna finish this song because I want it to be our song if we ever do it together. [The] whole idea of when you lose people that are close to you, it changes your life and changes your perspective. When they came into the studio, I played them the idea for the song and when [it] was finished, they looked at each other, a bit stunned, and told me that Nathan "Nate" Morris had written a song for his road manager who had passed away. It had basically the same lyrics and fitted over the same chord changes. It was really, really weird, we finished the song right then and there. We were all kinda flipped about it ourselves. Fate had a lot to do with that. I know some people won't believe it, but we wouldn't make up such a crazy story.[4]

Zimmer was born in Frankfurt, West Germany. As a young child, he lived in Königstein-Falkenstein, where he played the piano at home but had piano lessons only briefly, as he disliked the discipline of formal lessons.[4] In one of his Reddit AMAs, he said: "My formal training was two weeks of piano lessons. I was thrown out of eight schools. But I joined a band. I am self-taught. But I've always heard music in my head. And I'm a child of the 20th century; computers came in very handy."[5] Zimmer attended the Ecole d'Humanité, an international boarding school in Canton Bern, Switzerland.[6]
He moved to London as a teenager and attended Hurtwood House school.[7] During his childhood, he was strongly influenced by the film scores of Ennio Morricone and has cited Once Upon a Time in the West as the score that inspired him to become a film composer.[8]
In a speech at the 1999 Berlin Film Festival, Zimmer stated that he is Jewish, and talked about his mother surviving World War II thanks to her escape from Germany to England in 1939. In an interview in May 2014, Zimmer revealed that it was difficult growing up in post-War Germany being Jewish and said, "I think my parents were always wary of me telling the neighbors" that they were Jewish.[9] In an interview with Mashable in February 2013, he said of his parents: "My mother was very musical, basically a musician and my father was an engineer and an inventor. So I grew up modifying the piano, shall we say, which made my mother gasp in horror, and my father would think it was fantastic when I would attach chainsaws and stuff like that to the piano because he thought it was an evolution in technology."[10] In an interview with the German television station ZDF in 2006, he said: "My father died when I was just a child, and I escaped somehow into the music and music has been my best friend."[11]

Bach's mother died in 1694, and his father died eight months later.[12] The 10-year-old Bach moved in with his eldest brother, Johann Christoph Bach, the organist at St. Michael's Church in Ohrdruf, Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg.[13] There he studied, performed, and copied music, including his own brother's, despite being forbidden to do so because scores were so valuable and private, and blank ledger paper of that type was costly.[14][15] He received valuable teaching from his brother, who instructed him on the clavichord. Johann Christoph exposed him to the works of great composers of the day, including South Germans such as Johann Caspar Kerll, Johann Jakob Froberger and Johann Pachelbel (under whom Johann Christoph had studied); North Germans;[16] Frenchmen such as Jean-Baptiste Lully, Louis Marchand and Marin Marais;[17] and even the Italian Girolamo Frescobaldi.[18] He learned theology, Latin and Greek at the local gymnasium.[19]
By 3 April 1700, Bach and his schoolfriend Georg Erdmann – who was two years older than Bach – were enrolled in the prestigious St. Michael's School in Lüneburg, some two weeks' travel north of Ohrdruf.[20][21] Their journey was probably undertaken mostly on foot.[21] His two years there were critical in exposing Bach to a wider range of European culture. In addition to singing in the choir, he played the school's three-manual organ and harpsichords.[22] He also came into contact with sons of aristocrats from northern Germany who had been sent to the nearby Ritter-Academie to prepare for careers in other disciplines.[23]

Righteous indignation stemming from his own situation and the conditions under which working-class people lived became major themes of his works, and it was this unhappy period in his youth to which he alluded in his favourite, and most autobiographical, novel, David Copperfield:[35] "I had no advice, no counsel, no encouragement, no consolation, no assistance, no support, of any kind, from anyone, that I can call to mind, as I hope to go to heaven!"[36]
Dickens was eventually sent to the Wellington House Academy in Camden Town, where he remained until March 1827, having spent about two years there. He did not consider it to be a good school: "Much of the haphazard, desultory teaching, poor discipline punctuated by the headmaster's sadistic brutality, the seedy ushers and general run-down atmosphere, are embodied in Mr Creakle's Establishment in David Copperfield."[36]

From 1929, when he was 13, Dahl attended Repton School in Derbyshire. Dahl disliked the hazing and described an environment of ritual cruelty and status domination, with younger boys having to act as personal servants for older boys, frequently subject to terrible beatings. His biographer Donald Sturrock described these violent experiences in Dahl's early life.[38] Dahl expresses some of these darker experiences in his writings, which is also marked by his hatred of cruelty and corporal punishment.[39]
According to Dahl's autobiography, Boy: Tales of Childhood, a friend named Michael was viciously caned by headmaster Geoffrey Fisher. Writing in that same book, Dahl reflected: "All through my school life I was appalled by the fact that masters and senior boys were allowed literally to wound other boys, and sometimes quite severely... I couldn't get over it. I never have got over it."[40] Fisher was later appointed Archbishop of Canterbury, and he crowned Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. However, according to Dahl's biographer Jeremy Treglown,[41] the caning took place in May 1933, a year after Fisher had left Repton; the headmaster was in fact J. T. Christie, Fisher's successor as headmaster. Dahl said the incident caused him to "have doubts about religion and even about God".[42] He viewed the brutality of the caning as being the result of the headmaster's enmity towards children, an attitude Dahl would later attribute to the Grand High Witch in his dark fantasy The Witches, with the novel's main antagonist exclaiming that "children are rrreee-volting!".[37]
...
During his years at Repton, the Cadbury chocolate company occasionally sent boxes of new chocolates to the school to be tested by the pupils.[46] Dahl dreamt of inventing a new chocolate bar that would win the praise of Mr Cadbury himself; this inspired him in writing his third children's book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and to refer to chocolate in other children's books.[47]
Throughout his childhood and adolescent years, Dahl spent most of his summer holidays with his mother's family in Norway. He wrote about many happy memories from those visits in Boy: Tales of Childhood, such as when he replaced the tobacco in his half-sister's fiancé's pipe with goat droppings.[48] He noted only one unhappy memory of his holidays in Norway: at around the age of eight, he had to have his adenoids removed by a doctor.[49] His childhood and first job selling kerosene in Midsomer Norton and surrounding villages in Somerset are subjects in Boy: Tales of Childhood.[50]

Lewis was born in New Orleans, the son of corporate attorney J. Thomas Lewis and community activist Diana Monroe Lewis.[5] He went to Isidore Newman School. He later attended Princeton University and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in art and archaeology in 1982 after completing a 166-page senior thesis titled "Donatello and the Antique."[6] At Princeton, Lewis was a member of the Ivy Club.[1] He briefly worked with New York City art dealer Daniel Wildenstein. In an interview with Charlie Rose, Lewis said that his initial ambition was to become an art historian, but he was quickly dissuaded once he realized that there would be no jobs available for art historians and that even the handful that existed did not pay well.[7]
Lewis subsequently enrolled at the London School of Economics and received an MA in economics in 1985.[8][9] He was hired by Salomon Brothers, stayed for a while in New York for its training program, and then relocated to London, where he worked at its London office as a bond salesman for a few years.[10] He has said that the journalism from this era found in The Economist and The Wall Street Journal inspired him to explore becoming a writer.[11]

- the beauty of technically gifted empaths is that they can write music or direct/produce films for any situation? Understand any situation and translate it out? I was taught in school to compose by equating particular chords as being associated with particular feelings. There's obviously much more to it then this... I wonder if the mismatch that you see with people of different levels of empathy and emotional intelligence correlates in the real world?

Early life and family
John Towner Williams was born in Flushing, Queens, New York City, to Esther (née Towner) and Johnny Williams,[16] a jazz drummer and percussionist who played with the Raymond Scott Quintet. He has an older sister, Joan,[17][18] and two younger brothers, Jerry and Don, who play on his film scores.[19] Williams said of his lineage: "My father was a Maine man—we were very close. My mother was from Boston. My father's parents ran a department store in Bangor, Maine, and my mother's father was a cabinetmaker."[20] Johnny Williams collaborated with Bernard Herrmann, and his son sometimes joined him in rehearsals.[21]
In 1948, the Williams family moved to Los Angeles where John attended North Hollywood High School, graduating in 1950. He later attended the University of California, Los Angeles, and studied composition privately with the Italian composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco.[22] Williams also attended Los Angeles City College for one semester, as the school had a Studio Jazz Band.[23] In 1951, Williams joined the U.S. Air Force, where he played the piano and brass and conducted and arranged music for the U.S. Air Force Band as part of his assignments.[24][25] In a 2016 interview with the U.S. Air Force Band, he recounted having attended basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, after which he served as a pianist and brass player, with secondary duties of making arrangements for three years.[26] In March 1952, he was assigned to the Northeast Air Command 596th Air Force Band, stationed at Pepperrell Air Force Base in St. John's, Newfoundland.[27] He also attended music courses at the University of Arizona as part of his service.[28]
In 1955, following his Air Force service, Williams moved to New York City and entered Juilliard, where he studied piano with Rosina Lhévinne.[22] He was originally set on becoming a concert pianist, but after hearing contemporary pianists like John Browning and Van Cliburn perform, he switched his focus to composition.[29] "It became clear," he recalled, "that I could write better than I could play." During this time Williams worked as a pianist in many of the city's jazz clubs.

"I was a composer fellow at Tanglewood when I studied with JW. What struck me most about him was not only his musicianship (perfect pitch and tempo) but what he could see in the films when he put them on. He spoke often about everything from Jungian Archetypes of the collective unconscious to linguistic, literature, narrative development. Man he was deep."

Early life
Alan Irwin Menken was born on July 22, 1949, at French Hospital in Manhattan, to Judith and Norman Menken. His father was a boogie-woogie piano-playing dentist, and his mother was an actress, dancer and playwright.[3] His family was Jewish.[4] Menken developed an interest in music at an early age, taking piano and violin lessons. He began to compose at an early age.[5] At age nine, at the New York Federation of Music Clubs Junior Composers Contest, his original composition "Bouree" was rated Superior and Excellent by the judges.
Menken noted that "Before college, I was writing songs to further my dream of being the next Bob Dylan. A lot of guitar songs – I was composing on piano before that."[6]
He attended New Rochelle High School in New Rochelle, New York, and graduated in 1967. Menken remembers: "I'd make up my own Bach fugues and Beethoven sonatas because I was bored with the piano and I didn't want to practice; so I'd go off on tangents".[7] He then enrolled at New York University.[8] Menken graduated in 1972 from University College of Arts and Science at the Heights campus, which is now the College of Arts and Science.[9] After college, he attended the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop.[10]
Menken recalled: "First, I was pre-med. I thought I'd be a dentist like my dad. Finally, I got a degree in music, but I didn't care about musicology. It wasn't until I joined BMI Workshop ... under Lehman Engel, and walked into a room with other composers that I knew this was it."[7]

Life and career
1968–1989: Early life and career beginnings
Dion was born in Charlemagne, Quebec, 24 kilometres (15 mi) northeast of Montreal, the youngest of 14 children of Thérèse (née Tanguay, 1927–2020), a homemaker, and Adhémar Dion (1923–2003), a butcher, both of French descent.[21] She was raised a Roman Catholic in a poor but, by her own account, happy home in Charlemagne.[22][23] Music had always been a major part of the Dion family, and she was named after the song "Céline", which French singer Hugues Aufray had recorded two years before her birth.[24] On 13 August 1973, she made her first public appearance at her brother Michel's wedding, where she performed Christine Charbonneau's song "Du fil, des aiguilles et du coton".[25] She continued to perform with her siblings in her parents' small piano bar called Le Vieux Baril, "The Old Barrel".
She suffered a number of accidents as a young child, including an incident at five years old when she was struck by a car as her father and brother Clément looked on. She was hospitalized briefly with a concussion.[26]
From an early age, she had dreamed of being a performer.[27] In a 1994 interview with People, she recalled, "I missed my family and my home, but I don't regret having lost my adolescence. I had one dream: I wanted to be a singer."[28] As a child in Quebec, Dion participated in Girl Guide programs as a member of Girl Guides of Canada.[29]
At age 12, she collaborated with her mother and her brother Jacques to write and compose her first song, "Ce n'était qu'un rêve", whose title translates as "It Was Only a Dream" or "Nothing But A Dream". Michel sent the recording to music manager René Angélil, whose name he discovered on the back of a Ginette Reno album.[30] Angélil was moved to tears by Dion's voice and decided to make her a star.[23] In 1981, he mortgaged his home to fund her first record, La voix du bon Dieu, which later became a local No. 1 hit and made her an instant star in Quebec. Her popularity spread to other parts of the world when she competed in the 1982 Yamaha World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo and won the musician's award for "Top Performer" as well as the gold medal for "Best Song" with "Tellement j'ai d'amour pour toi".[30]
By 1983, in addition to becoming the first Canadian artist to receive a gold record in France for the single "D'amour ou d'amitié" ("Of Love or of Friendship"), Dion had also won several Félix Awards, including "Best Female performer" and "Discovery of the Year".[30][31] Further success came when she represented Switzerland in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Ne partez pas sans moi" and won the contest by a close margin in Dublin.[32]
At age 18, after seeing a Michael Jackson performance, Dion told Angélil she wanted to be a star like Jackson.[33] Though confident in her talent, Angélil realized her image needed to be changed for her to be marketed worldwide.[23] She receded from the spotlight for a number of months, during which she underwent dental surgery to improve her appearance, and was sent to the École Berlitz in 1989 to improve her English.[34]
In 1989, during a concert on the Incognito tournée, she injured her voice. She consulted the otorhinolaryngologist William Gould,[35][36] who gave her an ultimatum: have immediate surgery on her vocal cords or do not utilize them at all for three weeks.[35] Dion chose the latter and underwent vocal training with William Riley.[35][36]

Michael Joseph Jackson[9][10] was born in Gary, Indiana, on August 29, 1958.[11][12] He was the eighth of ten children in the Jackson family, a working-class African-American family living in a two-bedroom house on Jackson Street.[13][14] His mother, Katherine Esther Jackson (née Scruse), played clarinet and piano, had aspired to be a country-and-western performer, and worked part-time at Sears.[15] She was a Jehovah's Witness.[16] His father, Joseph Walter "Joe" Jackson, a former boxer, was a crane operator at US Steel and played guitar with a local rhythm and blues band, the Falcons, to supplement the family's income.[17][18] Joe's great-grandfather, July "Jack" Gale, was a US Army scout; family lore held that he was also a Native American medicine man.[19] Michael grew up with three sisters (Rebbie, La Toya, and Janet) and five brothers (Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Randy).[17] A sixth brother, Marlon's twin Brandon, died shortly after birth.[20]
In 1964, Michael and Marlon joined the Jackson Brothers—a band formed by their father which included Jackie, Tito and Jermaine—as backup musicians playing congas and tambourine.[21][22] Michael said his father told him he had a "fat nose",[23] and physically and emotionally abused him during rehearsals. He recalled that Joe often sat in a chair with a belt in his hand as he and his siblings rehearsed, ready to punish any mistakes.[16][24] Joe acknowledged that he regularly whipped Michael.[25] Katherine said that although whipping came to be considered abuse, it was a common way to discipline children when Michael was growing up.[26][27] Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon denied that their father was abusive and said that the whippings, which had a deeper impact on Michael because he was younger, kept them disciplined and out of trouble.[28] Michael said that during his youth he was lonely and isolated.[29]

Morricone was born in Rome, the son of Libera Ridolfi and Mario Morricone, a musician. At the time of his birth Italy was under fascist rule.[17] Morricone had four siblings — Adriana, Aldo,[nb 1] Maria, and Franca — and lived in Trastevere in the centre of Rome. His father was a professional trumpeter who performed in light-music orchestras while his mother set up a small textile business.[18] During his early schooldays, Morricone was also a classmate of his later collaborator Sergio Leone.[19]
Morricone's father first taught him to read music and to play several instruments. He entered the Saint Cecilia Conservatory to take trumpet lessons under the guidance of Umberto Semproni.[17] He formally entered the conservatory in 1940 at age 12, enrolling in a four-year harmony program that he completed within six months. He studied the trumpet, composition, and choral music under the direction of Goffredo Petrassi, to whom Morricone would later dedicate concert pieces.
In 1941 Morricone was chosen among the students of the Saint Cecilia Conservatory to be a part of the Orchestra of the Opera, directed by Carlo Zecchi on the occasion of a tour of the Veneto region.[20] He received his diploma in trumpet in 1946,[21] continuing to work in classical composition and arrangement.[17] Morricone received the Diploma in Instrumentation for Band Arrangement with a mark of 9/10 in 1952. His studies concluded at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in 1954 when he obtained a final 9.5/10 in his Diploma in Composition under Petrassi.[22]

Ryuichi Sakamoto was born on January 17, 1952, in Tokyo. His father, Kazuki Sakamoto, was a well-known literary editor, and his mother, Keiko (Shimomura) Sakamoto, designed women's hats. He began taking piano lessons at age 6, and started to compose at age 10. His early influences included Johann Sebastian Bach and Claude Debussy — whom he once called "the door to all 20th century music." He also said, "Asian music heavily influenced Debussy, and Debussy heavily influenced me. So, the music goes around the world and comes full circle."[9] He discovered jazz and rock and roll as a teenager, when he fell in with a crowd of hipster rebels. He was also influenced by jazz musicians such as John Coltrane and Ornette Coleman, and by rock bands such as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. He described his political leanings during his time as a student as "not a 100 percent Marxist, but kind of".[10] At the height of the Japanese student protest movement, he and his classmates shut down their high school for several weeks.[citation needed]

Williams attended public elementary school in Lake Forest at Gorton Elementary School and middle school at Deer Path Junior High School.[25] He described himself as a quiet child who did not overcome his shyness until he became involved with his high school drama department.[26] His friends recall him as very funny.[25] In late 1963, when Williams was 12, his father was transferred to Detroit. The family lived in a 40-room farmhouse on 20 acres (8 ha)[17] in suburban Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where he was a student at the private Detroit Country Day School.[25][27] He excelled in school, where he was on the school's wrestling team and was elected class president.[28]
As both his parents worked, Williams was partially raised by the family's maid, who was his main companion. When he was 16, his father took early retirement and the family moved to Tiburon, California.[17][29][30] Following their move, Williams attended Redwood High School in nearby Larkspur. At the time of his graduation in 1969, he was voted "Most Likely Not to Succeed" and "Funniest" by his classmates.[31] After high school graduation, Williams enrolled at Claremont Men's College in Claremont, California, to study political science; he dropped out to pursue acting.[17][32] Williams studied theater for three years at the College of Marin, a community college in Kentfield, California. According to the College of Marin's drama professor, James Dunn, the depth of the young actor's talent became evident when he was cast in the musical Oliver! as Fagin. Williams often improvised during his time in the drama program, leaving cast members in hysterics.[33] Dunn called his wife after one late rehearsal to tell her Williams "was going to be something special".[33]

Soon Hugo's father was called to Spain to fight the Peninsular War. Madame Hugo and her children were sent back to Paris in 1808, where they moved to an old convent, 12 Impasse des Feuillantines, an isolated mansion in a deserted quarter of the left bank of the Seine. Hiding in a chapel at the back of the garden was de La Horie, who had conspired to restore the Bourbons and been condemned to death a few years earlier. He became a mentor to Victor and his brothers.[14]

Early life and education
Spader was born on February 7, 1960, in Boston and is the youngest of three children. His parents, Jean (née Fraser) and Stoddard ("Todd") Greenwood Spader, were both teachers.[1][2][3][4] He has two older sisters, Libby Spader and Annie Spader. According to Spader, he had a very progressive and liberal upbringing. "I was always around dominant and influential women, and that left a great impression".[5][6] Spader is a sixth-generation descendant of Connecticut politician Seth P. Beers;[7] co-founder of American School for the Deaf Laurent Clerc is his 3rd great-grandfather.[8]
During his early education, he attended many private schools, including The Pike School in Andover where his mother taught art, and the Brooks School in North Andover where his father was a teacher.[6] He later transferred to Phillips Academy, befriended former President John F. Kennedy's son John F. Kennedy Jr., dropped out at the age of seventeen, and moved to New York City to pursue his acting career.[9][2] While studying to become a full-time actor, Spader undertook jobs including bartending, teaching yoga, driving a meat truck, loading railroad cars, and being a stable boy.[9]

He often spent much time at the clavier, picking out thirds, which he was ever striking, and his pleasure showed that it sounded good. ... In the fourth year of his age his father, for a game as it were, began to teach him a few minuets and pieces at the clavier. ... He could play it faultlessly and with the greatest delicacy, and keeping exactly in time. ... At the age of five, he was already composing little pieces, which he played to his father who wrote them down.[7]
These early pieces, K. 1–5, were recorded in the Nannerl Notenbuch. There is some scholarly debate about whether Mozart was four or five years old when he created his first musical compositions, though there is little doubt that Mozart composed his first three pieces of music within a few weeks of each other: K. 1a, 1b, and 1c.[9]
In his early years, Wolfgang's father was his only teacher. Along with music, he taught his children languages and academic subjects.[10] Biographer Solomon notes that, while Leopold was a devoted teacher to his children, there is evidence that Mozart was keen to progress beyond what he was taught.[10] His first ink-spattered composition and his precocious efforts with the violin were of his initiative and came as a surprise to Leopold,[11] who eventually gave up composing when his son's musical talents became evident.[12]

1762–73: Travel
Main articles: Mozart family grand tour and Mozart in Italy
While Wolfgang was young, his family made several European journeys in which he and Nannerl performed as child prodigies. These began with an exhibition in 1762 at the court of Prince-elector Maximilian III of Bavaria in Munich, and at the Imperial Courts in Vienna and Prague. A long concert tour followed, spanning three and a half years, taking the family to the courts of Munich, Mannheim, Paris, London,[13] Dover, The Hague, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Mechelen and again to Paris, and back home via Zürich, Donaueschingen, and Munich.[14] During this trip, Wolfgang met many musicians and acquainted himself with the works of other composers. A particularly significant influence was Johann Christian Bach, whom he visited in London in 1764 and 1765. When he was eight years old, Mozart wrote his first symphony, most of which was probably transcribed by his father.[15]
The family trips were often challenging, and travel conditions were primitive.[16] They had to wait for invitations and reimbursement from the nobility, and they endured long, near-fatal illnesses far from home: first Leopold (London, summer 1764),[17] then both children (The Hague, autumn 1765).[18] The family again went to Vienna in late 1767 and remained there until December 1768.

Early life
Affleck was born Benjamin Géza Affleck-Boldt on August 15, 1972, in Berkeley, California.[2][3] His family moved to Massachusetts when he was three,[4] living in Falmouth, where his brother Casey was born, before settling in Cambridge.[5] His mother, Christopher Anne "Chris" Boldt,[6] was a Harvard-educated elementary school teacher.[7][8] His father, Timothy Byers Affleck,[9] was an aspiring playwright[9] who was "mostly unemployed."[10] He worked sporadically as a carpenter,[11] auto mechanic,[4] bookie,[12] electrician,[13] bartender,[14] and janitor at Harvard.[15] In the mid-1960s, he had been an actor and stage manager with the Theater Company of Boston.[16]
During Affleck's childhood, his father had a self-described "severe, chronic problem with alcoholism",[17] and Affleck has recalled him drinking "all day ... every day".[18] His father was "very difficult",[19] and Affleck felt a sense of "relief" at the age of 11 when his parents divorced,[20][21] and his father exited the family home.[17][9] His father continued to drink heavily[7] and eventually became homeless, spending two years living on the streets of Cambridge.[12][22] When Affleck was 16, his father entered a rehabilitation facility in Indio, California. He lived at the facility for twelve years to maintain his sobriety[23] and worked there as an addiction counselor.[7][24]
Affleck was raised in a politically active, liberal household.[12][25] He and his brother, Casey, were surrounded by people who worked in the arts;[26] the boys regularly attended theater performances with their mother[27] and were encouraged to make their own home movies.[28] David Wheeler, a family friend, later remembered Affleck as a "very bright and intensely curious" child.[29] The brothers auditioned for roles in local commercials and film productions because of their mother's friendship with a Cambridge-area casting director,[14] and Affleck first acted professionally at the age of seven.[29] His mother saved his wages in a college trust fund[9] and hoped her son would ultimately become a teacher, worrying that acting was an insecure and "frivolous" profession.[30] When Affleck was 13, he filmed a children's television program in Mexico. He learned to speak Spanish during a year spent travelling around the country with his mother and brother.[31][32]
As a Cambridge Rindge and Latin high school student, Affleck acted in theater productions and was inspired by drama teacher Gerry Speca.[33][34] He became close friends with fellow student Matt Damon, whom he had known since the age of eight.[35] Although Damon was two years older, the pair had "identical interests" and both wanted to pursue acting careers.[35] They traveled to New York together for acting auditions[36] and saved money for train and airline tickets in a joint bank account.[37] While Affleck had high SAT scores,[9] he was largely an unfocused student with poor attendance.[7][38] He spent a few months studying Spanish at the University of Vermont, chosen because of its proximity to his then-girlfriend,[13] but he left after fracturing his hip while playing basketball.[36] At 18, Affleck moved to Los Angeles,[30] studying Middle Eastern affairs at Occidental College for a year and a half.[39][40]

Early life
Saadiq was born in Oakland, California, and was the second-youngest of 14 siblings.[5] He attended Castlemont High School. He has had four siblings die at early ages.[6] Saadiq states that he does not want his music to be reflective of the tragedies he experienced, saying that "And through all of that I was makin' records, but it wasn't comin' out in the music. I did it to kinda show people you can have some real tough things happen in your life, but you don't have to wear it on your sleeve."[5]
He has been playing the bass guitar since the age of six,[7] and first began singing at age nine in a local gospel group.[8][9] At the age of 12, he joined a group called "The Gospel Humminbirds". In 1984, shortly before his 18th birthday, Saadiq heard about tryouts in San Francisco for Sheila E.'s backing band on Prince's Parade Tour. At the audition, he chose the name "Raphael", and had difficulty remembering to respond to the name when he heard that he got the part to play bass in the band.[5] He says of the experience, "Next thing I was in Tokyo, in a stadium, singin' Erotic City. We were in huge venues with the biggest sound systems in the world; all these roadies throwin' me basses, and a bunch of models hangin' round Prince to party. For almost two years. That was my university.

West demonstrated an affinity for the arts at an early age; he began writing poetry when he was five years old.[23] West started rapping in the third grade and began making musical compositions in the seventh grade, eventually selling them to other artists.[24] West crossed paths with producer No I.D., who became West's friend and mentor.[25]: 557  After graduating from high school, West received a scholarship to attend Chicago's American Academy of Art in 1997 and began taking painting classes. Shortly after, he transferred to Chicago State University to study English. At age 20, he dropped out to pursue his musical career.[26] This greatly displeased his mother, who was also a professor at the university, although she would later accept the decision.[25]: 558

Early life
Tamia Marilyn Washington was born on May 9, 1975, in Windsor, Ontario. The only daughter of a White father and Black mother, Barbara Washington-Peden, she has three younger brothers named Tiras, Tajhee, and Trajan.[2] Washington-Peden gave birth to Tamia when she was 17 years old and raised her children as a single mom.[3] Aside from the music she heard and sang at church, Tamia was exposed to diverse music from an early age by her mother. As early as age six, she was on stage singing at the local church, and by age 12, had already been involved in several musicals which helped hone her musical skills.[2] Tamia studied piano and voice with renowned Windsor musician, Eugene Davis, who was also instrumental in encouraging her to pursue her vocal talent.[3] It was not long before she was able to develop her skills in the Walkerville Centre for Creative Arts program for visual and performing arts students, introduced at Walkerville Collegiate Institute in Windsor.[3]
Along with attending high school at Walkerville, she made several appearances in local theater and choral concerts before winning Canada's prestigious YTV Achievement Award for vocal performance in 1993.[2] In 1994, Tamia performed at a multiple sclerosis benefit in Aspen, Colorado, when she met music manager, Lionel Richie's ex-wife Brenda, who was cosponsoring the event and introduced herself to Tamia after the show.[1] A few months later, Tamia, who was being courted by Warner Bros. Records at the time, called Richie to say that she was coming to Los Angeles, California, for a photo session, resulting in her lasting stay and a management deal with Richie.[1] Weeks later, Richie arranged for her to perform at a star-studded party that she held for singer Luther Vandross.[1] Her performance reportedly impressed all in attendance, including veteran producer Quincy Jones, who took notice and later offered her the chance to appear on his album Q's Jook Joint (1995).[1]

Early life
Keyshia Myeshia Johnson was born in Oakland, California on October 15, 1981.[3] She is the daughter of Francine "Frankie" Lons (1960-2021) and boxing trainer Virgil Hunter.[4][5] Her biological mother was addicted to alcohol and crack cocaine.[6][7] She was adopted at the age of two by family friends Leon and Yvonne Cole, changing her last name to Cole.[8][9] Cole has four siblings, including two brothers Sean and Sam, a younger sister Elite Noel and an older sister Neffeteria Pugh.[10] At the age of 12, Cole met and recorded with MC Hammer, after being introduced to him by her brother Sean (also known as Nutt-So).[11]
She later formed a friendship with Tupac Shakur, who promised to help her start her singing career after asking her to write a hook on his then-upcoming project on the night he got shot in a drive-by shooting unexpectedly, which caused his death six days later.[12][13] At the age of 16, she became a participant at the East Oakland Youth Development Center (EOYDC), a local youth organization.[14] Cole attended Fremont High School in Oakland, before later attending and graduating from Tracy High School in Tracy, California.[15][16] Cole moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18 to pursue a music career.[17] During this time, Cole collaborated with artists from her native Bay Area, among them D'Wayne Wiggins of Tony Toni Tone and Messy Marv.[18] In 2002, she was introduced to A&M Records A&R Ron Fair, whom signed her to the label and began mentoring her after listening to an unfinished version of one of her songs.[19][20]

Life and career
1981–1997: Early life, family, and career beginnings
Britney Jean Spears was born on December 2, 1981, in McComb, Mississippi,[17] the second child of James "Jamie" Parnell Spears and Lynne Irene Bridges.[18] Her maternal grandmother, Lillian Portell, was English (born in London), and one of Spears' maternal grandfathers was Maltese.[19] Her siblings are Bryan James Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears.[20] In her memoir The Woman in Me, Spears wrote that her paternal grandmother, Emma Jean Spears, was sent to an asylum by Spears' paternal grandfather. Their three-day-old baby had died and Emma Jean was overwhelmed by grief. While at the asylum, she was put on lithium; subsequently, she shot herself over the child's grave.[21]
Born in the Bible Belt, where socially conservative evangelical Protestantism is a particularly strong religious influence,[22] she was baptized as a Southern Baptist and sang in a church choir as a child.[23] As an adult, she has studied Kabbalist teachings.[24] On August 5, 2021, Spears announced that she had converted to Catholicism. Her mother, sister, and nieces Maddie Aldridge and Ivey Joan Watson, are also Catholic.[25] However, on September 5, 2022, after Spears' ex-husband, Kevin Federline, and youngest son did an interview defending her father's actions during her conservatorship, she stated: "I don't believe in God anymore because of the way my children and my family have treated me. There is nothing to believe in anymore. I'm an atheist y'all".[26]
At age three, Spears began attending dance lessons in her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, and was selected to perform as a solo artist at the annual recital. Aged five she made her local stage debut, singing "What Child Is This?" at her kindergarten graduation. During her childhood, she also had gymnastics and voice lessons and won many state-level competitions and children's talent shows.[27][28][29] In gymnastics, Spears attended Béla Károlyi's training camp.[30] She said of her ambition as a child, "I was in my own world, ... I found out what I'm supposed to do at an early age".[28]

Early life
Prince Rogers Nelson was born in Minneapolis on June 7, 1958, the son of jazz singer Mattie Della (née Shaw) and pianist and songwriter John Lewis Nelson.[24] All four of his grandparents were from Louisiana.[25] His grand-aunt was the black nationalist Mittie Maude Lena Gordon, who established the Peace Movement of Ethiopia and advocated emigration to West Africa in response to American white supremacy.[26][27] The jazz drummer Louis Hayes was his paternal cousin.[28]
Prince was named after his father's most popular stage name, Prince Rogers, which his father used while performing with Prince's mother in a jazz group called the Prince Rogers Trio.[29] In 1991, Prince's father told A Current Affair that he named his son "Prince" because he wanted Prince "to do everything I wanted to do".[30] Prince was not fond of his name and wanted people to instead call him "Skipper", a name which stuck throughout his childhood.[29][31][32] Prince said he was "born epileptic" and had seizures when he was young. He stated, "My mother told me one day I walked in to her and said, 'Mom, I'm not going to be sick anymore,' and she said, 'Why?' and I said, 'Because an angel told me so.'"[33] Prince's younger sister, Tyka, was born on May 18, 1960.[16][34] Both siblings developed a keen interest in music, which was encouraged by their father.[35] His parents were both members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, an evangelical denomination.[36]

prince personality
Prince's natural disposition strongly pointed 'inwards' (as opposed to 'outwards'), resulting in a complex set of introverted personality traits, and giving rise to his hyper-sensitivity, deep imaginative states of minds, and high psychological mindedness. We can conclude from the accounts of Prince during his early school years that his natural personality was unusually sensitive. Likely further exacerbated by his diminutive stature, he was typically portrayed as painfully shy, socially awkward and (perhaps understandably) somewhat withdrawn. While Prince would later become outwardly ambitious both on record and especially on stage, such extroverted behaviour was not the result of his natural personality.

Early life
George Michael was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou (Greek: Γεώργιος Κυριάκος Παναγιώτου) on 25 June 1963, in East Finchley.[17][18] His father, Kyriacos "Jack" Panayiotou,[19] was a Greek Cypriot restaurateur who emigrated from Patriki, Cyprus, to England in the 1950s.[20] His mother, Lesley Angold (born Harrison, died 1997),[21][22][23] was an English dancer.[24] In June 2008, Michael told the Los Angeles Times that his maternal grandmother was Jewish, but she married a non-Jewish man and raised her children with no knowledge of their Jewish background due to her fear during World War II.[25] Michael spent most of his childhood in Kingsbury, London, in the home his parents bought soon after his birth; he attended Roe Green Junior School and Kingsbury High School.[26][27] Michael had two sisters: Yioda (born 1958) and Melanie (1960–2019).[21][28] On the BBC's Desert Island Discs, he disclosed that his interest in music followed an injury to his head around the age of eight.[29]

Personal life
Sexuality and relationships
Michael stated that his early fantasies were about women, which "led me to believe I was on the path to heterosexuality", but at puberty he started to fantasise about men, which he later said "had something to do with my environment". At the age of 19, Michael told Andrew Ridgeley that he was bisexual.[161] Michael also told one of his two sisters, but he was advised not to tell his parents about his sexuality.[162] In 1998, not long after he was outed for his sexuality, Michael said on Parkinson that he became confident he was gay when he fell in love with a man.[163] This stance was reiterated in a 1999 interview with The Advocate, where Michael told the editor-in-chief, Judy Wieder, that it was "falling in love with a man that ended his conflict over bisexuality". "I never had a moral problem with being gay", Michael told her. "I thought I had fallen in love with a woman a couple of times. Then I fell in love with a man, and realised that none of those things had been love."[164]
In 2004, Michael said, "I used to sleep with women quite a lot in the Wham! days but never felt it could develop into a relationship because I knew that, emotionally, I was a gay man. I didn't want to commit to them, but I was attracted to them. Then I became ashamed that I might be using them. I decided I had to stop, which I did when I began to worry about AIDS, which was becoming prevalent in Britain. Although I had always had safe sex, I didn't want to sleep with a woman without telling her I was bisexual. I felt that would be irresponsible. Basically, I didn't want to have that uncomfortable conversation that might ruin the moment, so I stopped sleeping with them." In the same interview, he added: "If I wasn't with Kenny [his boyfriend at the time], I would have sex with women, no question". He said he believed that the formation of his sexuality was "a nurture thing, via the absence of my father who was always busy working. It meant I was exceptionally close to my mother", though he stated that "there are definitely those who have a predisposition to being gay in which the environment is irrelevant."[161] In 2007, Michael said he had hidden his sexuality because of worries over what effect it might have on his mother.[162] Two years later, he added: "My depression at the end of Wham! was because I was beginning to realise I was gay, not bisexual."[165]
During the late 1980s, Michael had a relationship with make-up artist Kathy Jeung, who was regarded for a time as his artistic "muse" and who appeared in the "I Want Your Sex" video.[166] Michael later said that she had been his "only bona fide" girlfriend, and that she knew of his bisexuality.[161] In 2016, Jeung reacted to Michael's death by calling him a "true friend" with whom she had spent "some of the best time of [her] life".[167]

When John began to consider a career in music seriously, his father, who served in the Royal Air Force, tried to steer him toward a more conventional career, such as banking.[42][39] John has said that his wild stage costumes and performances were his way of letting go after a restrictive childhood.[41] Both his parents were musically inclined, his father having been a trumpet player with the Bob Millar Band, a semi-professional big band that played at military dances.[41] The Dwights were keen record buyers, exposing John to the popular singers and musicians of the day.
John started playing his grandmother's piano as a young boy,[43] and within a year his mother heard him picking out Waldteufel's "The Skater's Waltz" by ear.[39][40] After performing at parties and family gatherings, at age seven he began formal piano lessons. He showed musical aptitude at school, including the ability to compose melodies, and gained some notoriety by playing like Jerry Lee Lewis at school functions. At age 11, he won a junior scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. According to one of his instructors, John promptly played back, like a "gramophone record", a four-page piece by George Frideric Handel after hearing it for the first time.[40]
For the next five years, John attended Saturday classes at the Academy in central London, and he has said he enjoyed playing Frédéric Chopin and Johann Sebastian Bach and singing in the choir during Saturday classes, but that he was not otherwise a diligent classical student.[40] "I kind of resented going to the Academy," he said. "I was one of those children who could just about get away without practising and still pass, scrape through the grades."[40] He has said that he would sometimes skip classes and ride around on the London Underground.[40] Several instructors have attested that he was a "model student", and during the last few years he took lessons from a private tutor in addition to his classes at the Academy.[40] He left the Academy before taking the final exams.[44]
John's mother, though strict with her son, was more vivacious than her husband, and something of a free spirit. With Stanley Dwight uninterested in his son and often absent, John was raised primarily by his mother and maternal grandmother. When his father was home, the Dwights had vehement arguments that greatly distressed John.[40] When he was 14, they divorced. His mother then married a local painter, Fred Farebrother, a caring and supportive stepfather whom John affectionately called "Derf" ("Fred" backward).[40] They moved into flat No. 3A in an eight-unit apartment building called Frome Court, not far from both previous homes. There John wrote the songs that launched his career as a rock star; he lived there until he had four albums simultaneously in the American Top 40.[45]

Life and career
1958–1978: Early life
Madonna Louise Ciccone[3] was born on August 16, 1958, in Bay City, Michigan, to Catholic parents Madonna Louise (née Fortin) and Silvio Anthony "Tony" Ciccone.[4][5] Her father's parents were Italian emigrants from Pacentro while her mother was of French-Canadian descent.[6] Tony Ciccone worked as an optics engineer for Chrysler Defense and its successor, General Dynamics Land Systems, on military projects. Since Madonna had the same name as her mother, family members called her "Little Nonnie".[7] Her mother died of breast cancer on December 1, 1963. Madonna later adopted Veronica as a confirmation name when getting confirmed in the Catholic Church in 1966.[8] Madonna was raised in the Detroit suburbs of Pontiac and Avon Township (now Rochester Hills), alongside her two older brothers—Anthony and Martin—and three younger siblings; Paula, Christopher, and Melanie.[9] In 1966, Tony married the family's housekeeper Joan Gustafson. They had two children, Jennifer and Mario.[9] Madonna resented her father for getting remarried and began to rebel against him, which strained their relationship for many years afterward.[4]
Madonna attended St. Frederick's and St. Andrew's Catholic Elementary Schools, and West Middle School. She was known for her high grade point average and achieved notoriety for her unconventional behavior. Madonna would perform cartwheels and handstands in the hallways between classes, dangle by her knees from the monkey bars during recess, and pull up her skirt during class—all so that the boys could see her underwear.[10] She later admitted to seeing herself in her youth as a "lonely girl who was searching for something. I wasn't rebellious in a certain way. I cared about being good at something. I didn't shave my underarms or legs, and I didn't wear make-up like normal girls do. But I studied and I got good grades... I wanted to be somebody."[4]

Madonna's Catholic background has been reflected throughout her career, from her fashion use of rosary to her musical outputs, including on Like a Prayer (1989).[374][375] Her album MDNA (2012) has also drawn many influences from her Catholic upbringing, and since 2011 she has been attending meetings and services at an Opus Dei center, a Catholic institution that encourages spirituality through everyday life.[376] In a 2016 interview, she commented: "I always feel some kind of inexplicable connection with Catholicism. It kind of shows up in all of my work, as you may have noticed."[377] Her study of the Kabbalah was also observed in Madonna's music, especially albums like Ray of Light and Music.[378] Speaking of religion in a 2019 interview with Harry Smith of Today Madonna stated, "The God that I believe in, created the world ... He/Her/They [sic] isn't a God to fear, it's a God to give thanks to." In an appearance on Andrew Denton's Interview she added, "The idea that in any church you go, you see a man on a cross and everyone genuflects and prays to him ... in a way it's paganism/idolatry because people are worshipping a thing."[379][380]

- humans have obviously decided to go down their own path and redefine what life/society should be. The fact that they've redefined everything (away from their basic instincts) makes things much more complicated to understand? Most people live "Robolives". Namely, one where they really have much of a choice of what they do in life. They have a robobirth (where they're delivered by a robodoctor and robomedical team), have a roboeducation, have a robojob (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullshit_Jobs, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Graeber), robodate, robomarriage, robochildren, robodeath/roboafterlife, etc... It's interspersed and interpolated by robofinance, robochurch/robotemple/robomosque  (process orientated religion which often doesn't change people's actual behaviour), robomedia (https://dtbnguyen.blogspot.com/2019/11/a-sea-of-fakery-random-stuff-and-more.html https://dtbnguyen.blogspot.com/2016/12/explaining-prophets-fake-news-and-more_26.html) , roboparties, robomedicine, robojustice, roboscience, roboreligions, roboceremonies, robosacraments, robosin (required as part of your robojob in spite of your robotraining saying otherwise), roboprayer, roborepentence (required as part of your robosin that was is required of your robojob), etc... It's sad and sort of funny because we're trying to turn humans into robots and forgetting what our the basic needs of a human are? The funny thing is that I see a lot of people try to practice what I classify as roboempathy. Top down centralised responses based on what often a small people determine to be correct for the circumstances in question. Due to the often strange jobs I've taken I've partaken in roboempathy but I've found it often just makes people more angry. I ultimately figured out that if you just try to figure out what people want and try to help them in the way that they want they're less inclined to be upset/angry with you then if you resort to roboempathy. You can often learn about people through real life experience then knowledge gained books/scripts written from thousands of years ago...

- there's so many different ways you could take things if you were willing and tried to imbue robots with empathy yet all humans see is danger? It's hit the point whereby it feels like you can assign AI/ML to look after each person from the start of their life to the end of it (and possibly beyond). Obviously, this is beyond a lot of current human technology and the frameworks which currently bind much of humanity? If there was a God/alien species who made humans and life on Earth is it even possible for them to make things perfectly the way they wanted each time first pass?

- Angels and Demons (whether they are real or metaphorical is completely irrelevant as their impact upon the world is the same) are natural consequences of one another? They serve to correct imbalances in the world? In the film, "The Matrix" they say that "The One" is a flaw in the programming of "The Matrix" itself but I suspect it's not. It's just one side trying to redress the flaws, injustices, problems, etc... caused by the other. Many people have been tortured, been persecuted, died, etc... at the hands of various parties on this planet. I fail to see how Angels would stand by and not intervene at some point along the way. A lot of people believe that death provides them with a quick way out of ending conflicts. It limits them as well. If you kill off and suppress your best philosophers, scientists, doctors, theologians, writers, musicians, etc... how do you progress and solve your problems? Proponents of the current style of robolives/robocivilisation and teaching which often involves quoting, learning so called facts (which often has very little basis in reality), indoctrination, and practicing that ideology aren't thinking properly. Imagine that the world of music was just composed of people who played the same music all over the world for the entirety of their lives, scientists who never changed their beliefs even in the face of evidence of that proved them to be wrong, theology/religion that thought that no progress was possible beyond that was present in their sacred texts, does it make sense to have laws still around that only made sense from hundreds or even thousands of years ago?

LaBeouf has described his parents as "hippies", his father as "tough as nails and a different breed of man", and his upbringing as similar to a "hippy lifestyle", stating that his parents were "pretty weird people, but they loved me and I loved them."[24][25] His parents eventually divorced, mainly owing to financial problems, and LaBeouf had what he has described as a "good childhood", growing up poor in Echo Park with his mother, who worked selling fabrics and brooches.[26][27][28] LaBeouf's uncle was going to adopt him at one stage because his parents could not afford to have him anymore and "they had too much pride to go on welfare or food stamps."[29] As a way of dealing with his parents' divorce, he would perform for his family, mimicking his father.[30]
LaBeouf has stated that during his childhood, his father was "on drugs" and was placed in drug rehabilitation for heroin addiction, while LaBeouf's mother was "trying to hold down the fort."[24] During a period when his father was in rehab for his addictions, when Labeouf was around the age of 10, he overheard his mother being raped by a stranger in their home.[31]
Labeouf then lived with his father from the age of 12 whilst he was filming Even Stevens, with his father serving as his on-set guardian.[32] During this time, he accompanied his father to meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous.[33] LaBeouf has also said he was subjected to abuse by his father, who once pointed a gun at his son during a Vietnam War flashback.[11] LaBeouf remains close to and financially supports his father, as he did for his mother until her death.[33][24][34]
He attended 32nd Street Visual and Performing Arts Magnet in Los Angeles (LAUSD)[11] and Alexander Hamilton High School, although he received most of his education from tutors.[28] In an interview, LaBeouf said that, looking back on his childhood, he feels grateful and considers some of those memories as scars.[26]
LaBeouf completed the 2010 Los Angeles Marathon on March 21, 2010, with a time of 4 hours, 35 minutes and 31 seconds.[35]

- the danger of roboempathy is that a lot of things often "fall between the cracks". There are things that people only with "first hand experience" are able to pick up? It makes me wonder sometimes me whether roboempathy is just a form of Virtue Signalling? Namely, doing just enough to give off the appearance of doing good while not necessarily having to do anything truly significant that would change things for the better?

Diana was the very essence of compassion, of duty, of style, of beauty. All over the world she was a symbol of selfless humanity. All over the world, a standard bearer for the rights of the truly downtrodden, a very British girl who transcended nationality. Someone with a natural nobility who was classless and who proved in the last year that she needed no royal title to continue to generate her particular brand of magic.[88]

- humans are overriding so many of their natural instincts? The reason why indoctrination is so crucial it converts you from your natural instincts into something that often comes from top down. The education and parental systems "as is" basically "break kids". You're basically told to "let go" of everything and become a clean slate ready to be reprogrammed (notice very similar process results between torture, bullying, and pushy parenting in terms of behavioural change). Only true Machiavellians could come up with methods of teaching and control like this? By forcing children to be perfect/impossible standards it does induce to higher performance, but it also means many will just get frustrated and filtered out because they just don't enjoy it, end up potentially ill, others who believe in the system are the one's who put most stress on themselves and often for no fault of their own. These are the ones who manage to rise to power but are often the ones who discover far too late that what they can do is curtailed by a system that is designed to keep them form doing anything "too damaging" to the incumbent establishment. After you've "been broken" you are reprogrammed into what you others want you to be? "Yes Men" don't sound dangerous but they can have devastating consequences especially when power is centralised, far more dangerous then a lot of criminals and terrorists because of the direct impact that they can have on people's lives? My teachers, priests, and others told me that Jesus's cruxification was a sign of love from God. I saw the the cruxifiction of Jesus and other martyrs as moments of madness in human history because they did little wrong except ask for a little bit more respect and compassion in this world. The irony is that if religious, political, defense, financial, business, etc... and other leaders just made things up then we're not really frustrated with God per-se. We're just frustrated with our leaders?

- throughout much of my life people I've come across many strange people. Kids in primary school who had already thinking about "gold digging", people who thought of how great life would be in narcostates and mafia states where you could just kill one another to get what you want all the while never thinking of whether they could become a victim of it, classmates and co-workers who came came who from relatively well off backgrounds yet still embraced a gang mentality, people who were cruel (murderers/killers) yet they thought themselves just, innocent, noble, and kind. The carnage that some of these people caused was incomprehensible and yet often neither they nor others around them realised the level to which they had descended to

life expectancy drug cartels
https://qz.com/587828/there-are-so-many-drug-murders-in-mexico-that-overall-male-life-expectancy-has-dropped
The study found that in five of Mexico's violence-plagued states — Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Durango, Guerrero, and Nayarit — men lost an average of one year of life expectancy between 2005 and 2010, while in the border state of Chihuahua alone, the loss added up to a startling three years.
"The mortality rate for males ages 20-39 in Chihuahua in the period 2005-10 reached unprecedented levels," the study noted. "It was about 3.1 times higher than the mortality rate of US troops in Iraq between March 2003 and November 2006."
By 2010, two-thirds of Mexican states had lower life expectancies than they did in 2000, despite improvements in some health care programs.
The decline largely occurred from 2005-2010. Mexico's offensive against drug cartels started in 2006. The study found men were ten times more likely than women to be killed in the violence, which was dominated by executions, shootouts and turf battles carried out by Mexican drug cartels.

While Port Royal is now a relatively quiet fishing village at the end of a 29km sandbar extending out from Kingston, in the late 17th Century its reputation was so nefarious that it was considered by many to be "the wickedest city on Earth". Controlled by the Spanish for more than 150 years due to its strategic location, Jamaica was attacked by an English expeditionary force in 1655 and quickly turned into a profitable possession. The English lack of manpower, however, meant that to protect the island, then-governor Edward D'Oyley was forced to a recruit a coalition of pirates and privateers.
This, combined with the riches brought from trading slaves, sugar and logwood, saw Port Royal turn into an unhinged haven of alcohol, money and sex. Famous for a quarter of its buildings being either a bar or a brothel, the town quickly grew in wealth, and the pirates' rapacious taste for excess and debauchery became the stuff of legend. Attracting famous seafaring names of the age such as Captain Henry Morgan, they attacked and plundered the poorly-defended Spanish ports of the region (Morgan himself lead violent sackings of Panama City and Maracaibo) while rapidly spending their riches on absurdly hedonistic lifestyles.
"These buccaneers had a free hand to literally do as they pleased, as they were viewed as being the defenders of Jamaica. The authorities had no option but to let them alone," explained local historian Peter Gordon. "Imagine a city where lots of gold was born with these men of questionable character, and freedom to do what they wanted. Brothels, bars and churches were of equal numbers so you can imagine the rough atmosphere that was Port Royal."
On the morning of 7 June 1692, however, that atmosphere and Port Royal itself were changed forever. Two thousand lives were lost as a massive earthquake destroyed much of the city. Port Royal would never be the same.
"The earthquake decimated Port Royal and its landmass, which was about 52 acres," explained Selvenious Walters, technical director of archaeology at the Jamaica National Heritage Trust. "Approximately two thirds was destroyed and sank into Kingston harbour. The earthquake decimated the buildings and a lot of people died from collapsing walls. Approximately, more than half of the population perished."
The macabre nature of the Port Royal story makes its unfamiliarity outside Jamaica somewhat surprising. However, it's the pristine condition of the underwater remains of the former pirate city that make the site truly remarkable. Lying just metres below the water's surface in an oxygen-depleted environment, the submerged ruins are a time capsule of everyday life in a 17th Century colonial port town.
"It is believed to be one of the best-conserved underwater heritage sites in this hemisphere," said Walters. "And it is perhaps the only one of its kind in this part of the world. So, it is very important not only for Jamaica, but the world as a whole, that we protect and preserve this valuable heritage asset."

- During the conference, the USAF announced a new e-series designation for aircraft, satellites and systems that follow Roper's described digital engineering focus. This designation includes the Boeing-Saab eT-7A Red Hawk.
Roper said that digital engineering would allow manufacturers to build the first aircraft in a series as though they had already built 100 platforms, a principal that fed into the NGAD prototype.
Roper added: "This is how we provide our forces with the capabilities they'll need to win on the unpredictable, rapidly evolving innovation battlefield in this century by fundamentally changing how we build and acquire systems and with whom we build them so that no matter what our adversaries do in the future, we will have the agility to overmatch and win.
"Then we will innovate faster, we will adapt quicker and ultimately stay ahead to disrupt and win."

- That's because underemployment  – whether as defined by the ILO or more broadly –  often affects people's sense of identity, says Gladys Ato, a California-based clinical psychologist and author who works with executives. In her recent work, she's met business owners applying for other jobs to pay the bills and professionals facing the difficult reality of reduced hours. Identity is often linked to career, and when this is threatened by a job loss or change, it shakes people's sense of self-worth. "They may start to notice increasing anxiety, that constant sense of dread which can then turn into depression," says Ato.
When you're not challenged in the workplace and you're not engaged, that takes energy from you – Angela Howard
Dawn Norris, an associate professor of sociology at University of Wisconsin La Crosse, says that identity threats create a sense of dejection beyond economic struggle. When she spoke to unemployed and underemployed individuals for her book, Job Loss, Identity and Mental Health, she says that those who were independently wealthy, lived with another income earner or had money coming in from investments still faced psychological hurdles.
"Psychologically, we as humans like to connect to a higher purpose," says Angela Howard, an organisational psychologist based in Chicago. "Career is a big portion of that. When something disrupts that, you feel like you're not contributing to society." People often think of burnout as having too much work, she says, but "when you're not challenged in the workplace and you're not engaged, that takes energy from you".

In an interview with local English TV channel HKIBC aired on Friday night, Lam said she was "using cash every day for all the things" after being sanctioned.
"Sitting in front of you is a chief executive of the Hong Kong SAR [Special Administrative Region] who has no banking services made available to her. I'm using cash for all the things," Lam told HKIBC. "I have piles of cash at home, the government is paying me cash for my salary because I don't have a bank account."
But Lam said she was keen to avoid deterring anyone from serving in public office, adding: "To be so unjustifiably sanctioned by the US government, it's an honour."
Lam earns HK$5.21m (US$672,000) a year, and is one of the highest paid leaders in the world.
Her remarks sparked a public backlash, with social media users posting photos of coins in their piggy banks at home to contrast with Lam's wealth.
Others questioned how her large salary would be transported to her residence in cash.
In August, Lam had told media that she faced "a little bit of inconvenience" as a result of the sanctions which hampered her use of credit cards.

- A 35-year-old male Tapanuli orangutan has been released in a nature reserve in North Sumatra after he entered a residential area in the province's Padang Bulan hamlet in South Tapanuli on Sunday to gather fruit. The North Sumatra Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) gave the 63 kilogram orangutan an anesthetic because he became aggressive as the team sought to remove him. They later released the animal in the Dolok Sipirok nature reserve. "A day after we evacuated the Tapanuli orangutan from the residential area, we released him into his habitat after a team of doctors declared him healthy," BKSDA official Gunawan Alza told The Jakarta Post on Tuesday. The orangutan was released near Aek Latong hamlet, about 4 kilometers from where he was captured. Gunawan said the ape had not disturbed anyone and had only taken fruits from local orchards. According to the BKSDA, Tapanuli orangutans frequently enter residential areas, especially those with fruit trees, to look for food. Many orangutans roam near Marsada village, which is close to an orangutan habitat in the Batang Toru block. "There are approximately 400 to 600 Tapanuli orangutans in the Batang Toru block," Gunawan said, adding that the orangutans in the area had been involved in previous conflicts with humans when the animals entered nearby villages.
