- just like others I've always thought the fact that many natural behaviours is banned is really wierd. It entails almost all the entire population are doing something bad so it's sort of nonsensical? If God loves everyone and everything why make it near impossible for most people to go to heaven? - the problem with life for a long time now is that even if you want to do good there's no way to really "show it"? As a child and in the workplace you may have been called names for doing good so even if want to do good you have to hide it. In the worst scenario of cases you'll get yourself killed and the best case scenario people will want to take advantage of you. This is something many world leaders seem to be aware of? One of the biggest pressure in today's society is being forced to do what society, family, friends, etc... tell you to do versus what you feel is right. If you are part of the ongoing battle between Angels and Demons I think you're limiting yourself by forcing yourself into boxes that society creates; move beyond them and you could probably do more. If you're trying to attone for dodgy laws if you're more limited try becoming a lawyer, if you're more capable try becoming a politician or judge . If you've trying to attone for the deaths of innocent people and are limited in what you can do try your hand at counselling and donating money to relevant organisations, if you're more capable try your hand at medical research and ultimately resurrecting previously dead/extinct animals and ultimately people. If you've trying to attone for the economic inequality and are limited in what you can do try your hand at donating money to relevant organisations or policy research and form, if you're more capable try your hand at politics and policy making. I've learnt that just because things look hopeless it doesn't always mean you can't do something

In most other parts of society this is inconceivable. On Earth, mass shooters and serial killers are often called the problem but there's often a tragic history behind many of these people, they may simply be the only option to make money for them, they may be stuck in that life and can't get out due to earlier bad choices or peer pressure, it's not always that they're just rotten and evil, etc...

Working at a home for homeless children in Yunnan, Zhang Guimei saw the same pattern in poor mountain households. The girls got pulled out of school to work or to marry. The brothers stayed in.
So from 2002 she spent every school holiday on the streets of Kunming asking strangers for money to build a school. Five years of it. Rejection, humiliation, and about 10,000 yuan at the end. Roughly $1,400. Nowhere near enough.
Her story surfaced at a national party congress in 2007 and public money followed. In August 2008 the Huaping High School for Girls opened in Lijiang. It is described as China's first and only free public high school for girls.
Over 12 years, 1,804 of its graduates went on to university.
The college entrance exam pass rate has been 100 percent since 2011. Placement at key universities rose from 4.26 percent to 40.67 percent.
She lives with a long list of diagnosed conditions and keeps a schedule of rising at five in the morning and going to bed after midnight. There are photographs of her with both hands strapped in medical tape, holding a loudspeaker in a school corridor at dawn.
Every girl in that building would otherwise have been married or working.

There is a condition that almost never gets discussed in a doctor's office, even though the people living with it describe it as losing part of themselves. It is called PSSD, post-SSRI sexual dysfunction, and in this video I explain what it is, why patients are so rarely warned about it, and what has to change.
PSSD is not just low libido. It is a nervous system injury that can persist long after the last dose of an SSRI. People affected describe complete loss of genital sensation, inability to orgasm, and something harder to put into words: the loss of emotional capacity. They say they feel blunted, that joy is gone, that it feels like losing their soul. I want you to hear how consistently patients describe this, because consistency across people who have never met is exactly what a real condition looks like.
Here is what should trouble you. Some drug labels, including Prozac's, acknowledge that sexual dysfunction can persist after stopping. Regulators in the EU, Canada, and Australia have added similar warnings. Yet most patients are never told this before their first prescription, many SSRI labels still carry no such warning, and a 2018 citizens' petition asking the FDA to add the risk to labels went nowhere. Without that information, informed consent is not actually happening.
And when patients develop PSSD and report it, too many are dismissed, told it is in their heads, labeled paranoid, or offered yet another psychiatric medication. That experience of institutional betrayal, being harmed by the treatment and then disbelieved about the harm, is its own injury on top of the first one. If that has happened to you, you are not crazy and you are not alone.
The larger lesson of this video is simple: given risks like this, non-drug approaches to depression and anxiety deserve to come first, not last.
A word of caution: if you are currently taking an SSRI or any psychiatric medication, do not stop abruptly. Coming off too quickly can cause serious harm. Any taper should be gradual and medically supervised.

In 2015, retired Catholic priest Paul-André Harvey from Quebec's Chicoutimi diocese pleaded guilty to 39 charges of indecent assault and gross indecency. Most of his victims were girls between the ages of eight and 10. Harvey was sentenced to six years in prison.
But before Harvey died in prison, the defrocked priest did something extraordinary — he provided a confession for his victims to use in a class-action suit against the Catholic Church. He claimed that church officials were aware of his crimes for years. When complaints surfaced, Harvey says he was simply moved. - until recently I've never thought about Ascension/Afterlife deeply from the perspective of humans. In retrospect, there's a really good reason for the difficulty in achieving it and the numerous lockouts. You don't want evil/bad people living for hundreds, thousands, of years or indefinitely? If we use the model of Ascension mentioned in ancient legends and muths then humans become reponsible for themselves. Others leave a bunch of clues and it's up to humans to decide what to do next? Under the current regime, a lot of disabled people and sick/ill people are deemed sub-human and have few prospects in life (if we're being honest). If we bring them back/equalise them it would be interesting to see what they would do with their lives? Instead of (in the worse cost) living a marginalised life being a burden on society they can contribute to society as well (if they want)

🌶️ Famine fuels the fire. Born in 1947 in Guizhou, one of China's poorest provinces, Tao experienced the Great Famine as a child. According to her biographer, Tao was so hungry she dreamt of putting mud in her mouth just to feel full. Later, she started experimenting with flavours to make simple meals go further.
🌶️ Don’t be held back. Tao never received a formal education and couldn’t read or write, yet built one of China's best-known food brands. Even after becoming a successful businesswoman, she still had important documents read aloud to her.
🌶️ Stick to your principles. After her husband died in 1984, Tao took a second job carrying rocks to pay off debts from his medical bills. She vowed never to borrow money again, telling her sons, "Use whatever you have, whether much or little, always use your own money."
🌶️ Spot what sells. Tao started a roadside noodle stall, serving a crunchy, spicy sauce made from local chillies. It was here she earned the nickname 'Old Godmother'. One day when she hadn't made the sauce, she noticed customers didn't want the noodles. They wanted the sauce to take home.
🌶️ Spread the word. Tao started producing jars of the sauce, and when a highway was built nearby, she gave them out for free to truckers. Soon, people were travelling from across the region just to buy her chilli oil. It's a strategy she's used again and again, in modern times relying on social media for exposure.
🌶️ Think bigger. In 1996, Tao bought two houses and turned them into a factory. She kept expanding from there. For years, though, she still personally checked the sauce, blistering her tongue from tasting so many chillies.
🌶️ Keep control – no matter what. Despite the company's success, Tao refused to list it on the stock market, choosing instead to stay private and let word of mouth do the marketing. Today, with her two sons in charge, around three million bottles of Lao Gan Ma are produced every day, using 45,000 tonnes of chillies a year. Hot stuff!

Speaking with an affected accent, designed to make him sound like a WASP, Delacroix delivers a definition of satire, setting the tone for this film made in the tradition of Sidney Lumet’s Network (1976) and Elia Kazan’s A Face in the Crowd (1957). Delacroix comes up with an idea that he and his assistant Sloan Hopkins (Jada Pinkett Smith) believe is sure to get him fired: Mantan’s New Millennium Minstrel Show. The show features every single racial stereotype imaginable. He even goes so far as to employ black homeless tap-dancing street performers Manray (Savion Glover) and Womack (Tommy Davidson), putting them in blackface and rechristening them Mantan and Sleep ‘n Eat. But rather than being the end of his career, the show is a huge success. Delacroix laps up the acclaim, forgetting his reservations about similar material in the past and earning the criticism of his parents and Sloan.

Lee takes no prisoners when firing bullets at American cinematic history. The film ends with a montage sequence showing the use of blackface and racist tropes throughout the history of American audio-visual entertainment. Lee calls it “one of the best scenes I have ever done”, even though he also feels that it was part of the reason why the film was dismissed at the time of its release. “Because those images are so hurtful. Who wants to see Judy Garland, Bing Crosby and Mickey Rooney in blackface? We wanted to use a clip of Bugs Bunny in blackface, but Warner Brothers wouldn’t give us clearance to use it.”

An earlier study exposed how malign actors can hack Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri using laser light beams to send remote audible commands – but this is the first time it's been demonstrated hackers can convert audio in real time without using external sources, such as malware.
A research paper produced by researchers at Israel’s University of Negev and Weizmann Institute of Science has revealed hackers can use an innovative technique to eavesdrop on private conversations by tracking vibrations in a lightbulb.
The technique, which the researchers dub “Lamphone”, works by intercepting vibrations in lightbulbs produced by changing air pressure created by sound. The researchers who captured the vibrations and turned them into audio claim they were able to listen to conversations from up to 25 meters away.
"We show how fluctuations in air pressure on the surface of the hanging bulb, which cause the bulb to vibrate very slightly, can be exploited by eavesdroppers to recover speech and singing, passively, externally and in real time," the paper states.

- A zoo keeper at Indonesia’s Surabaya zoo has been arrested and charged with sexual assault on a number of animals, including impregnating a female orangutan, reports the Kalimantan Press.
The 38-year-old zoo keeper was filmed in full action by a series of hidden cameras put in place by the zoo’s security officials after doubts emerged about the man’s devious actions towards the zoo animals.

“Some animals seemed sexually aroused when it was time to feed them” explains Akhiroel Yahya, employee who has worked in the zoo for 14 years.
“But what made us most suspicious was when we discovered Marylin, our oldest orangutan, was pregnant. She has never been in contact with any other orangutans because of her aggressive nature, so it didn’t make any sense” he acknowledges, visibly troubled by the news.
The zoo officials admit it took them sometime before being able to explain what had actually happened.
“At first, we clearly did not comprehend what had happened,” admits the zoo’s director, Abdoel Hakim. “Marilyn has been secluded for the past 10 years, it was a total mystery,” he acknowledges.
“It is only when we placed several hidden cameras that we learned the horrible truth” he admits, visibly angered by the whole situation.
When confronted by local authorities, the offender denied any wrong doing on his part.
“He said everything he had done was consensual,” explains police chief Abubakar Jaar. “He said he loved each and everyone of the animals and was very sorry he had impregnated the orangutan,” he told local reporters.
“He says he did not know orangutans could get pregnant from humans,” he added.
However, many experts believe the man could not have impregnated the female orangutan, but some specialists claim a rare genetic predisposition could explain the unexplainable.
“Contrary to popular belief, the orangutan species is much closer to the human species than chimpanzees. We share practically the same DNA code, with only minute differences, which could explain the orangutan falling pregnant from this man” explains Paleobiologist Bachtiar Pado Panghulu, of the University of Jakarta.

Beijing may also be having second thoughts on whether springing big bucks for big carriers is the best use of its defense budget. China’s carriers greatest value may lie more in prestige, power projection against weaker adversaries, and building experience for later capability growth, rather than as deterrence against the U.S. Navy.
After all, a six-carrier PLA Navy would still be balancing against eleven higher-capability U.S. carriers. In the past, such naval imbalances in power often resulted in the weaker side’s most valuable ships staying in port rather than sallying forth into likely defeat. Consider the 17 huge Kaiser Wilhelm dreadnaughts built prior to World War I, which saw limited action because they were contained by the 29 dreadnaughts in the Royal Navy.
In a high-intensity conflict with the United States, the PLA Navy would likely struggle to use its carriers without exposing them to unacceptably high levels of risk. Cheaper but still capable surface warships and submarines, as well as land-based missiles and long-range anti-ship bombers offer the PLA Navy a more immediately useable means to contest the western Pacific against a peer adversary.
Debatably, such long-range standoff weapons threaten the future viability of even the United State’s more mature carrier fleet. Adapting supercarriers to survive against them may involve developing new long-range unmanned systems radically different from the Super Hornet and Lightning fighters in current carrier air wings.
Thus, China’s downsizing of its carrier ambitions may leave it with more time to evaluate just what the carriers of the future will really look-like—and whether they’re worth the cost.
