As the title states the following are a bunch of recipes that I sometimes use for with rice or noodles. This is being placed here for my own possible records and for others to use if so desired.
These are based on recipes online and an interpretation of restaurants that I occasionally frequent. The point of these recipes is to achieve the best taste, in the quickest possible time (total cooking time averages around 10-15 minutes depending on how good you are in the kitchen. It's really difficult to get these wrong since many of the ingredients are pre-made), at the cheapest possible price. That's why the ingredients are somewhat non-traditional at times. Here's the other thing, it's obvious that they can be altered quickly and easily to suit other core ingredients. Don't be afraid to experiment.
Sweet Vietnamese Style Meat
- some form of meat (buy it pre-sliced or mince and you'll have this recipe done in no time. Chicken or pork works best with this recipe)
- sugar
- fish sauce
- pepper
- garlic
- onion (optional)
Split meat if required. Coat meat with bicarbonate soda if desired (meat tenderiser) and then wash off in cold water. Create marinade sauce by using adding sugar, fish sauce, garlic, pepper. Marinade pork with sauce. Cook meat in pan/saucepan with sauce, other and optional ingredients. Goes well with rice, noodles, or in a congee.
Salt and Pepper Chicken
- chicken (buy it pre-sliced or mince and you'll have this recipe done in no time)
- pepper
- garlic
- onion (optional)
- fish sauce (optional)
- soy sauce (optional)
Split meat if required. Coat meat with bicarbonate soda if desired (meat tenderiser) and then wash off in cold water. Fry off meat with salt, pepper, and garlic. Goes well with rice.

According to a report from the investment bank Morgan Stanley, Google and Facebook took between $4 billion and $5 billion of Australian revenue last year.

- New York: Russia's ambassador to Sudan, a career diplomat with decades of service, was found dead at his Khartoum home Wednesday, Russian and Sudanese officials reported.
The death of the ambassador, Mirgayas Shirinsky, who was in his early 60s, was at least the fourth time since December that a senior Kremlin envoy has died prematurely overseas. The Sudan Foreign Ministry said in a statement quoted by news agencies that Shirinsky "died this evening at his Khartoum residence" without providing a cause of death.

- A bride in the western Iranian province of Ilam has asked her fiancé to plant 1372 trees as part of her mahr – the traditional Islamic payment paid by the groom to the bride at the time of marriage, The Tehran Times reports.
Putting a twist on the traditional mahr, which typically includes things like money, jewelry, furniture, a home, land, or some other item the bride may desire, the bride from Ilam instead opted to ask her future husband to plant over a thousand trees.
Why 1,372? Under the Iranian calendar, 1372 is the year that the 24-year-old bride was born. Why trees? According to The Tehran Times, the bride would like to do her part to protect the environment, and garner attention to the issue.
